This document discusses the polarity of molecules. It defines polarity and explains that the two main factors that determine molecular polarity are: 1) the polarity of bonds between atoms, which is determined by electronegativity, and 2) the geometric shape of the molecule, which can be predicted using VSEPR theory. It also differentiates between polar and nonpolar covalent bonds and molecules based on electronegativity differences and molecular geometry. Examples of polar and nonpolar molecules are provided.
