The Eastern Church Fathers value tradition over novelty, and many of the works of Philokalia borrow heavily from these early works of Evagrios the Solitary. These church fathers saw this borrowing as reverence for writings of Evagrios and tradition, these church fathers never thought of this copying as plagiarism.
