MR. PHILIP DANA
VICE PRESIDENT, CHIEF OF PEOPLE OPERATIONS
THE HONOR FOUNDATION

Philip Dana hails from North Idaho and Whidbey Island,
Washington. He has a lengthy family lineage of military
service – his grandfather served as a Marine at Iwo Jima in
World War II, his father served in Korea and Vietnam, and he
is a direct descendant of Richard Henry Dana, the namesake
of Dana Point, California.
!
Phil enlisted in the Navy as an Aircrewman, graduated the
United States Naval Academy, and served as an Officer with
several deployments and various missions during Desert
Shield, Desert Storm, Operation Southern Watch, Operation
Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. He has also
served in support of the Joint Interagency Task Force (JIATF) United States Special Operations
Command (SOCOM).
!
Upon transitioning out of the Navy, he became a Talent executive within corporations such as
Centex Homes, Sears Holdings, Amazon, Life Technologies, and Intuit. While serving those
organizations, he had the honor of leading the efforts to hire over 25,000 veterans, and raising
more than $7 million for various veteran organizations.
!
He continues to help companies build their Military Talent programs. Phil serves the SpecOps
Forces (SOF) community as Chief of People Operations at The Honor Foundation, a unique
transition institute for SpecOps leaders.
!
He is married to Kristin (Yale) Dana of Military MOJO, who shares his passion for veteran
employment. They are the proud parents of a daughter, Brinley, a Pit bull named Cash, and two
cats, Monkey and Zoey.
!
