July 2017: Position available for PhD student
Topic: Organic fertilization
Norwegian Centre for Organic Agriculture (NORSØK) is an independent foundation aimed at
developing organic agriculture in Norway. We have recently received funding from Møre and
Romsdal county council to educate a PhD-student graduated in soil and plant science, where
marine resources (fish, seaweed) will be assessed and tested as recycled organic fertilizers.
The doctoral thesis will be the central part of the project «Marine rest raw materials for
fertilizers to organic agriculture» (RESTOR). Former working experience is beneficial.
The PhD-student will be employed at NORSØK, Tingvoll in Møre and Romsdal county, where
about 30 scientists from NORSØK, NIBIO and other enterprises are located and compose an
inspiring environment. There will be a close contact with the responsible university, NTNU in
Ålesund and Trondheim, and with the institute RISE in Uppsala, Sweden. Organic agriculture
is still a niche in Norway, and dependent on broad international cooperation. Hence,
participation in international projects will be a natural track of development. The position is
planned as a recruitment within one of the very central working fields of NORSØK. We will
assist you in searching for a place to live.
More information about the project and the position is available with director Turid Strøm,
+47-40769922, or senior researcher Anne-Kristin Løes, +47-40479962. You are also very
welcome to get in touch by e-mail, anne-kristin.loes@norsok.no.
Please read more about NORSØK’s work with soil, plants and animal husbandry at
