This summary report provides an overview of the accomplishments of the Public History Center (PHC) in its first 9 months of operation since transforming from the Seminole County Public Schools' Student Museum. Key accomplishments include incorporating university-level educational programming through class projects, internships, and field trips; improving K-12 programming for Seminole County Public Schools; increasing community engagement through public events; forming partnerships; stabilizing the building and collections; and generating revenue. The PHC has successfully integrated the goals of providing hands-on learning for students while engaging the community in history. Challenges around securing long-term funding and partnerships are discussed.
