Bay Harbor Village Hotel & Conference Center accommodates individuals and groups years round has become a preferred destination for weddings and events. The Conference Center located above Galley Gourmet was completed in June of 2003. Several wedding venues are available inside and out. We have seen a significant increase in bookings for weddings and corporate events for 2010. In Inn at Bay Harbor – A Renaissance Golf Resort has been named in the “Top 75 Golf Resorts” by Golf Digest.
Construction activity throughout Bay Harbor – Penthouse 56 and custom homes. There are currently 551 dwelling units complete in Bay Harbor, of which 167 are single family homes and 384 are condominium units. There are also 118 yacht docks completed. The Bay Harbor community’s tax base is currently more than 50% of the City of Petoskey’s tax base and nearly 10% of Emmet County’s tax base. Current Prices?
Yacht Club celebrated is 14 th year in 2009. The Club currently has 460 members and over 1400 individuals using the club. The Lange Center at Bay Harbor Yacht Club opened in May 2009. The addition funded by private donations of Yacht Club members includes a 10,000 square foot banquet facility, foyer and reception area and new kitchen facilities for the Yacht Club……
Bay Harbor Lake Marina is one of the many amenities located at Bay Harbor. The Marina is home to approximately 80 seasonal boaters and thousands of transients and visitors each year and is open to the public. Clean Marina Designation New Weather Buoy
Selected as the host for the 2010 Antique and Classic Boat Society’s annual meeting and international boat show. Collectors and spectator from all over the US and Canada will be in attendance. The event has not taken place in Michigan in 10 years. Last year’s event was held in Gravenhurst, Ontario and the year before in Lake George, New York.
With regard to the environmental project at Bay Harbor, the health and safety concerns have been eliminated. The remedies that CMS has installed are working very well and their focus has shifted to identifying local water disposals options. The EPA and MDEQ have committed to reaching an agreement by the end of this year that will identify appropriate final remedies and future compliance standards.
CMS’ work on East Park resulted in the re-opening of the park in June of 2009. The park is now bigger, improved and open to the public after being closed for four years. A celebration and official ribbon cutting took with many dignitaries on hand for the grand re-opening event.
The re-opening of East Park also resulted in the celebration of the final segment of the non-motorized trail being completed between Petoskey and Bay Harbor. There are now over 23 miles of completed trail system between Charleviox and Harbor Springs.
The Bay Harbor Foundation was founded in 2004 and is a charitable membership foundation supporting the arts, education, environment and health & human services. Since its inception, the foundation has awarded over $800,000 to 63 northern Michigan non-profit organizations. Executive Director is Candace Fitzsimons.
The Foundation started a scholarship program in 2008 and has awarded scholarships to 52 students in the past two years.
BHF was the sponsor for a world record set in Bay Harbor in 2009. Bay Harbor owners and volunteers came together to set the world record for the Longest Electric Vehicle Parade on June 26, 2009 with 218 vehicles. Bay Harbor is home to over 350 Global Electric Motor Vehicles and saves an estimated 450 tons of carbon emissions annually.
