Message series awakening - part 6 - awakening to surrender - pastor chuck b...LifePointe Church
Β
This message is Part 6 in the message series βAWAKENINGβ by Pastor Chuck Bernal. In this message titled, βAwakening To Surrenderβ, Pastor Chuck talks about how we can go "ALL IN" with God by surrendering all we are and all we have to Him. Using the examples of Moses and his staff, the disciples and their nets and Elisha and his plow, Pastor Chuck challenges each of us to release everything to God in total commitment and surrender. This message was delivered at LifePointe Church in Crowley, TX on Sunday, May 28, 2017.
This is a study of Jesus being thought to be a ghost. He was walking on the water in the dark and that has never been seen by man before, and so it is no wonder the disciples were afraid they were seeing a ghost.
This prospective missionary devotional is designed for high school seniors and others planning to submit their mission papers within the next year. I put it together for our stake presidency to present. It is divided into three sections, so each member of the stake presidency can take a part.
The first part talks about temporal and spiritual preparation. The second section discusses the mission call process, and the third part talks about some final things new missionaries need to do in preparation for their mission such as getting the priesthood and going to the temple.
There are 50 slides. If you go quickly through the slide deck, you can get through it in about an hour. But if you take your time it can take up to two hours.
In this second lesson we examine the importance of a father in the rearing of a Godly home. We trace the kings of the Bible to look at how they all impacted each other either for good or for bad and make practical application. We reinforce that Jesus is the ultimate standard for all who will live Godly lives.
When we look at men, we can get discouraged. We often see the corruption of leaders. The sinfulness of society is overwhelming. It is sad, but we also see weak Christians.
Let us stand in awe of the Lord Jesus Christ (Rev. 5:12). We ought to appreciate Him for His wisdom, reverence Him for His holiness, and love Him for His mercy and sacrifice.

Our Personal Commitment to Jesus demands that we desire to know Him more and more clearly and accurately. Such a relationship of intimacy should be cultivated and pressed onto through enlightenment of the eyes of our understanding. Our passion and zeal for knowing Him should be guided through light in order not to fall in the trap of false intimacy but know Him accurately the way He wants to be known.
Every Kingdom has a culture. Its culture sets its citizens apart from other Kingdoms. Likewise, in this Kingdom of the dear son, we have a culture as citizens or disciples. Our Culture is called ''Continuing in the Word, pursuing intimacy with truth' As we uphold this culture, we know the truth and the truth we know sets us free. This lesson was passed on in our King-Priest Meeting to young people from various denominations on the 30th of April,2022 @Manzini Library (Eswatini).

It is important to learn how to agree with what God says as a child of God! You decide whether to live by facts or Truth. Facts change but the truth remains the same!

Your connection determines your productiveness! We simply focus on maintaining our connection and fruitfulness happens automatically since we become the extensions of the vine, sharing the same life and manifesting the same virtues! Hence one can not determine to bear fruit outside the context of a Devine connection first.

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

Perspectives for a Mega Crossing by Ps T.N Makhubu.pdf
1. Perspectives on How to Cross Over to the other side
Crossing over to The Other Side
Foundational Text: Romans 15:4; Mark 6:45-48
Ps T. N Makhubu
2. Definitions:
Crossing over: Implies a progressive mental migration, wired by insight or a paradigm shift in
Perspective. βWe donβt see things the way they are, but we see things the way we areβ
To: Implies vision, purpose and direction. Implies that there are certain means to an end to
embrace in order to arrive at the expected end. Process is involved here.
The other Side: Refers to the desired end, new dimensions, untested realities, destiny, perfection
and fulfillment. There is βThe other sideβ of everything under the sun: Personal relationship with
God, Ministry, Career, family and companionships or networks.
The sea/River: In this context, it refers to an obstacle, limitation or hindrance to a migration
Question of Interest: How to cross over to the other side?
5 Mega Crossings in Scripture and the Perspectives we glean from each
Note #1: Before We hear of Crossover in Scripture, we first hear of Passover! Every permanent
mega crossing should find its basis on the Passover sacrifice (The Finished Work on Calvary).
Passover Precedes Crossover!
Note #2 βLet usβ¦β Implies the Corporate mentality not the Individualistic mentality of βLet me.β.
Every Mega crossing in this season happens within the context of the corporate not the
individual!
Mega crossing #1 Crossing the Red Sea _Exodus 14:21
How they crossed: The rod of Moses
Rod a Symbol of Authority, Power, Support and guidance_
Moses lifted up his rod over the sea Suph (Red Sea) and an East Wind came and the sea was
made dry land and the people could now crossover to the other side of Suph, completely cutting
ties with Egypt. So they had to submit to the authority, power, support and guidance of the Holy
Spirit represented by the East Wind.
Perspective: The level of your submission to the Holy Spirit determines the measure of your
crossing to the other side. Submit yourselves therefore to God, Resist the devil and he shall flee
from you (James 4:7)! In fact, our level of submission determines our level of resistance. Our
resistance is by our submission! As my submission to the Holy Spirit increases, so does the
enemyβs speed at fleeing away from me! Hence my focus is no longer on the devil but on my
submission! My submission will deal with my devil.
3. Mega Crossing #2 Crossing The Jordan River (The principal river of Palestine) _ Joshua
3:15-16
How they crossed: The Ark of the Covenant
The ark is a type of Christ and His Saving Work. It was the object of the Cabod of God (His
glory) signaling His Manifest presence. When the ark was there, the glory was there!
Contents of the ark: The rod that budded, the golden bowl, the manna, 2 tablets of stone with the
Moral law were inside the ark.
Perspective: Jordan requires the glory of God not anointing! You may be anointed but still
stuck. Jordan requires the embracing of the vessel that carries the manna you need to be
sustained on the other side! Jordan requires embracing Christ and His finished work and standing
on that ground of what He has done for us to secure the other side of Jordan.
Mega Crossing #3 Crossing The Jordan by Elijah and Elisha_ 2 Kings 2:8
How they crossed: The garment of Elijah (Father son wineskin)
A garment is a picture of character.
Elijah smote the waters with his garment, and the waters parted thither and hither. Elisha crossed
over together with Elijah due to his connection to the father as a son. He followed so close as a
son and silenced all noises until the very same character of Elijah fell on him. The reward of a
son who follows closely in spite of the noises even from other sons is the spirit of the father!
After the garment fell on him he crossed over on his own with that mantle!
Stages of sonship:
1) Nepios Stage: A babe. Though an heir but differs not from a slave due to lack of
Maturity. Great Learning and foundation (Milk) are necessary. _Galatians 4:1, Hebrews
5:12-14
2) Teknon Stage: A young child. Ready to be given responsibility but there are
inconsistencies in carrying out the will of the fatherβ¦shows more training is necessary_
Matthew 21: 28-31 (Parable Sons in the teknon stage)
3) Neaniskos Stage: Similar to the Maturity of βyoung men.β This is the stage of the
overcomer. This son has been tested and displayed strength and who in the testing has
represented the word of God silencing all the noises. _1 John 2:13-15
4) Huios Stage: Final stage of sonship. This is the son who may be sent as the full,
complete representation of the Father. Matthew 21: 33-44 (Parable of the Huios Son).
The Huios son carries the measure of the house of God when he is sent. This is the fully
mature, Christ-like son.
4. Perspective: There are certain crossings that require only Character! And this Character is
developed as you follow closely and silencing the noises until you have the same spirit as a
mature son with your father and ultimately the Lord Jesus Christ whose pattern we are to imitate.
Mega Crossing #4 Crossing The Lake of Galilee to Gadara
How they crossed: Crossing by ship with Jesus in the boat
A boat can be a symbol of a local church (Matthew 4:19). Fish caught through the net were
emptied in the boat, taken to the lake shore, a place of preparation, separation of the authentic
from the non-authentic and emptiness before being served to the world, the fish market inside
Jerusalem and being a blessing. Mega fish are a picture of Mega sons in the local church. Such
fish are priceless and many people are willing to pay for it in order to keep. Mega sons are
priceless and are a great joy to keep!!! These are fully mature sons ready to be lodged into the
deep and deployed into the market place.
Perspective: Many of us want to cross over the lake of invisibility and get to be a blessing to the
world but do not embrace local church and the process of being prepared, emptied of self and
deployed to the world after we have totally died. The World out there needs mega but dead fish
that wonβt jump off the hand and escape roasting! The Lord help us!!!
Mega Crossing #5 Crossing The Lake of Galilee to Bethsaida _ Mark 6:45-48
How He crossed: Feet walking on water
Crossing by feet walking on water is a picture of Dominion. _1 Corinthians 15:27-28
Perspective: The highest degree / dimension of crossing is through dominion in the spirit. All
the other previous crossings in the old testament, they had to stop the waters and walk on dry
ground which means the challenge had to stop for a while and resume after each crossing! But
the highest call for the new testament believer is dominion! The characteristics of a life of
Dominion according to the 12 tribes of Israel (Deut. 33:29). 12 is a number of dominion. This is
a life of:
1. Excellency of dignity and excellency of power [Reuben]_Gen 49:3
2. Aggressiveness with the Sword [Simeon]_Gen 49:5
3. Kingship and leadership, also Praise [Juda]_ Gen 49:10,8; Deut. 33:7
4. Priesthood (Burning of incense [Prayer Ministry], Teaching Ministry and facilitation of
Worship Ministry) [Levi] _Deut. 33:8-11
5. Safety, authority, power and accuracy[Benjamin]_Deut. 33:12; Judges 3:15; 20:15-16
5. 6. Military Might sponsored by double fruitfulness (Ephraim) and power (Manasseh) and
[Joseph]_Deut.33:17
7. Prosperity in the business sphere/ Commerce [Zebulon]_Deut. 33:18-19
8. Understanding of the times [Issachar],
9. Faithful cooperation in battle [Gad]_Deut. 33:20-21
10. Great Strength [Dan]_Deut. 33:22
11. Fullness with the blessing of the Lord [Naphtali] _Deut. 33:23
12. Favor resulting from blessedness/ anointing βwith feet dipped in oilβ [Asher]_ Gen 49:20;
Deut. 33;24
