“PERSONAL MISSION STATEMENT”
By
William J. Rusen
“I shall be engaged with the world. I shall seek the courage to
be the self that God created me to be. I will humble myself and
make the time to hear God’s voice in the totality of Creation. I
believe in service above self. I believe this service must be
delivered in the context of core principles (fairness, human
dignity, excellence, abundance, and self-determination) and
the values (competency, adaptability, responsibility and equity)
that grow out of them. I will strive to ensure that my
leadership demonstrates to all those around me that I am
authentic, transparent and predictable. I shall understand and
act through the lens of abundance mentality. I shall empower
others. I will seek to facilitate and to unleash the power and
creativity in those around me. I wish to be remembered as a
“builder”, as someone who left things BETTER than I found
them. I will humble myself to remember that the “other side”
of my focused problem solving approach is that I can
sometimes be opinionated. Therefore, I will listen to others and
thereby strive, always, for interdependent, adult living
practices in all areas of my life.”
