Presentation (Dutch): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aqcc0C-qBhA
A short presentation in PechaKucha format (20 slides, who are each 20 seconds visible) about Apple HomeKit.
This document introduces IoT agents, which act as intermediaries between IoT devices and the Orion Context Broker. It discusses the IoT architecture and how agents allow different device protocols to communicate with NGSI via a common interface. It also describes APIs for provisioning devices and interacting with their active and lazy attributes as well as commands. Finally, it provides recommendations for getting started, such as installing an IoT agent like UL 2.0 using Docker and testing it with tools like figway.
CIS 2015- IoT? The ‘I’ needs to be ‘Identity’- Paul MadsenCloudIDSummit
Just as the IoT demands interoperability at the network and application layer, for it to reach its hoped for scale and ubiquity it also demands ‘identity interoperability’, i.e. the ability for things and applications to be able to discover, authenticate and trust devices with identities that are managed elsewhere.
OAuth 2.0 and OpenID® Connect 1.0 are two authentication and authorization standards that, while not developed specifically with the IoT in mind, promise to serve as important tools for the IoT’s authentication and authorization requirements—enabling a standardized interoperable identity layer for the IoT.
In this presentation I'll argue the relevance of these identity standards to the IoT by exploring how they fit into a representative IoT wearable architecture
This document provides information about hardware, software, and tools included in an Intel IoT developer kit for a hackathon. The kit includes an Intel NUC gateway device running Moon Island Linux, a Grove starter sensor kit that connects to an Arduino 101 board, and Node-RED for visualizing and processing sensor data. It describes the components and their capabilities and provides an example workflow of getting temperature from a Grove sensor, sending it to the cloud, displaying a chart, and triggering alerts if the temperature exceeds a threshold.
Azure IoT - Global Azure Bootcamp 2019Sam Fernando
This document provides an overview of Azure IoT and related services presented by Sam Fernando. The presentation introduces IoT and the growth of connected devices, describes Azure IoT Hub for connecting devices and managing data/events, and demonstrates tools for development. It also shows how IoT Hub can integrate with other Azure services for streaming, machine learning, and more. Examples of IoT solutions and use cases are discussed.
This document discusses how the characteristics of the Internet of Things (IoT) could impact API design. It notes that IoT devices have low power, limited bandwidth, send many asynchronous messages, and have many connected applications/systems. Effective IoT API design may need to support real-time APIs, hypermedia APIs, and processing data locally instead of sending it to the cloud. It also emphasizes that API design should focus on meeting business objectives and end user needs rather than technology alone.
This document discusses FIWARE's IoT proposal and community. It provides an overview of FIWARE's target IoT users and developers, including IoT consumers and providers. It describes the most common IoT scenarios in FIWARE involving the Orion Context Broker and IDAS/SBC components. It also outlines several options for connecting devices to FIWARE Lab, such as using the IDAS/SBC with UltraLight 2.0, MQTT, or CoAP/OMA-LWM2M protocols. Finally, it mentions some success stories around smart cities, smart spaces, and emerging trends like iBeacons.

NDC Oslo: Turn specs into high quality appsmarcofolio
We’ve all been there: the specifications are created, you start building the app and eventually it turns out you’ve missed some important scenarios. ATDD/Specification by Example might have saved you to get some earlier insight about those scenarios.
After building the fully accepted app, you deploy it to the App Stores. You might get 1-star reviews from people claiming the app keeps crashing. Couldn’t you have prevented that?
By combining the power of Specification by Example & testing this fully automatically on hundreds of physical devices in the cloud, you can! All of this, while still maintaining a continuous delivery workflow, will achieve some great, high quality apps. During this presentation I'll show some actual scenario's from the working field, sharing some best practices and how this can work for your project too.
Objective: Learn about ATDD and utilize it to create high quality mobile apps that work everywhere and can empower your DevOps/continuous delivery workflow.

Chatbots are becoming a more common way to navigate a user through an application. The Microsoft Bot Framework allows you to build those kind of chatbots, host them in Azure and integrate them with ease in chatapplications like Slack and Facebook Messenger. Do the applications of the future have no need for an UI at all and is conversational UI all you need? The number of Microsoft Cognitive Services keeps on growing. Train the AI from Cognitive Sevices (like LUIS for language understanding, Custom Vison API for images, Text Analytics API for text etc.) the right way to make your chat application even smarter, making it feel like as if you're talking to an actual human. The conversation will be a lot more personal this way. By the end of the session we’ll have a demo that weaves all of these technologies together!
Give your Apps a Personal Touch with Cognitive Servicesmarcofolio

Graspan: A Big Data System for Big Code AnalysisAftab Hussain
We built a disk-based parallel graph system, Graspan, that uses a novel edge-pair centric computation model to compute dynamic transitive closures on very large program graphs.
We implement context-sensitive pointer/alias and dataflow analyses on Graspan. An evaluation of these analyses on large codebases such as Linux shows that their Graspan implementations scale to millions of lines of code and are much simpler than their original implementations.
These analyses were used to augment the existing checkers; these augmented checkers found 132 new NULL pointer bugs and 1308 unnecessary NULL tests in Linux 4.4.0-rc5, PostgreSQL 8.3.9, and Apache httpd 2.2.18.
- Accepted in ASPLOS ‘17, Xi’an, China.
- Featured in the tutorial, Systemized Program Analyses: A Big Data Perspective on Static Analysis Scalability, ASPLOS ‘17.
- Invited for presentation at SoCal PLS ‘16.
- Invited for poster presentation at PLDI SRC ‘16.
