GLOBAL PEACE – FROM WHAT SOURCE? Song 65 1 MULTITUDES YEARN FOR GLOBAL PEACE On 28 June 1914 a hand grenade was
rolled beneath a car travelling in a motorcade in the city of Sarajevo in Yugoslavia. The grenade missed its intended target and exploded beneath the
following car, injuring several people. The first car continued on its way and the occupants attended a welcome ceremony at the Sarajevo Town Hall.
Just a short time later, the VIPs from the first car decided to visit the injured ones who had been taken to the local hospital. On the way there the car
stalled, this provided an opportunity for another assassin to shoot and kill the Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria, the Heir to the Austrian Empire

5.00 2 GLOBAL PEACE NOT ATTAINABLE THROUGH HUMAN EFFORTS What has been noted by Historians and scholars has been the
effect of WW1 on World Peace. Since the end of that war there has been numerous attempts by mankind to put in place systems to prevent conflicts
and ensure we can live in a worldwide peace. Yet can anyone say we live in a peaceful world? Well no we do not. Is it because mankind has lacked
effort in trying to make a lasting Peace? Perhaps we can examine efforts to create a worldwide peace but before we do so lets just see what the Bible
has to say about man controlling his own destiny. If we can turn to Jeremiah 10:23 Another scripture we can examine echoes this theme Ecclesiastes
8:9 So we can see that the Bible questions the ability of humans to control their own destiny. Well these words were written thousands of years ago– so
what has History proven about our ability to bring about worldwide peaceful conditions for mankind. Modern History is littered with Treaties and
Peace Agreements... yet we still live in a World dominated by unrest, conflict and ....war. The Treaty of Versailles was the first treaty signed after the
end of the First World War and it was a peace settlement between the main combatants in that war. The Treaty though had contentious and controversial
points and the politicians of the day knew they urgently needed something else– anything – to bring

What Is Peace? Essay
Humans are obsessed with categorizing. We split the people and things of the world into millions of groups and give them names, characteristics, and
stereotypes. Ethnicity, sexuality, religion, political view, genus and species: these all reflect the human's constant need to note, name, and categorize.
Still not convinced? Look at a dictionary. The fact that it was even created proves a tendency of the human mind to solidify things, their category, their
characteristics, and their definition. Most brains do not do well with the abstract noun. Words like love, justice, fairness, and peace bounce about and
cannot be tamed by a definition. This doesn't stop humans though. Our constant need to classify and define still raises the incessant...show more

She brings up the creation of the United Nations after WWII and the atomic bomb, in order to exhibit the willingness of nations to strive collectively
for peace post–disaster. Corkalo claims that humans have natural psychological instincts that result in protectiveness and pride for the social, religious,
political, or racial group they belong to. This sense of self–importance and righteousness is the root problem of most conflict. Corkalo believes that
peace education would work to create intercultural training programs that break down the barriers of misconceptions, stereotypes, and discriminations,
while maintaining the worth and validity of each social group. Corkalo's proposal is ideal. I agree that giving the young generation the key to
intercultural understanding, equal opportunity, and worth would bring great peace. The decomposition of peace for the purpose of education is a
fascinating process that unveils its complexity and relevance to nearly all subjects. However, it is so complex that to teach its vast array of
components appears to be nearly impossible. If peace were attempted to be taught internationally, students would take extensive amounts of classes in
the fields of sociology, psychology, theology, political science, languages, and history. This line up of

World Peace
All the world over people crave for peace. The leaders and politicians of the world are trying to achieve world peace. But many difficulties come in
the way. There is fear and suspicion among nations. Russia suspects the motives of American. America likewise does not trust Russia. Pakistan says
that it is afraid of India. That is way she is aiming herself with latest weapons. Some countries are very much advance in science. Their economic
condition is far superior to that of others. Such countries want to dominate weaker countries. They exploit them. This creates tension and other conflicts
break out here and there. While peace has been established in Vietnam, the Middle East is still the danger spot of the world. Indian and Pakistan...show

The statistics show that elimination of each gangster costs lives of around six civilians besides security personnel. It is tragic and appalling. Residents
of the violence–wracked locality have been shifting to safer places to avert attacks. They are also faced with severe food shortage and continuous
failure of electricity and gas supply. Who are these gangsters and criminals? The locality is considered to be bastion of Pakistan People's Party and
criminals against whom the targeted operation is being carried out were once considered beloved of the PPP top leadership. The PPP top leaders
have not only been patronizing alleged goons like Uzair Jan Baloch but also declared them as heroes and champion of peace. Baloch was chief of
defunct Peoples Aman Committee, an armed wing of the PPP Karachi chapter. Now, leadership of the PPP might have realized the fact that these
people are actually bringing a bad name to the party. Uzair Bloch and his other notorious accomplices including Habib Jan Baloch and Zafar Baloch
have quit the PPP in reaction to the operation against them. Having lived in Karachi for more than seven years, I personally know all these are
infamous drug–pushers, extortionists and arms dealers. They have set up their own militias in the locality and are involved in smuggling different
contrabands from Balochistan and Iran as well. Why are they so powerful? The goons have had their contacts in the corridors of power and they also

WORLD PEACE & SECURITY
WORLD PEACE
World peace is an ideal of freedom, peace, and happiness among and within all nations and/or people. World peace is an idea of planetary non–violence
by which nations willingly cooperate, either voluntarily or by virtue of a system of governance that prevents warfare. The term is sometimes used to
refer to a cessation of all hostility among all individuals. For example, World Peace could be crossing boundaries via human rights, technology,
education, engineering, medicine, diplomats and/or an end to all forms of fighting.

While world peace is theoretically possible, some believe that human nature inherently prevents it.[1][2] This...show more content...
United Nations Charter and International law
After the World War II, United Nations has been established by United Nations Charter to "save successing generations from the two scourge of war
which twice in our lifetime has brought untold sorrow to mankind".[17] The Preamble to the United Nations Charter also aims to regain faith in
fundamental human rights, to respect obligation of sources of international law as well as to unite our strength to maintain international peace and
security. And all treaties on international human rights law recall or consider "the principles proclaimed in the Chater of the United Nations,
recognition of the inherent dignity and of the equal and inalienable rights of all members of the human family is the foundation of freedom, justice and
peace in the world".
Globalization
Gordon B. Hinkley saw a trend in national politics by which city–states and nation–states have unified, and suggest that the international arena will
eventually follow suit. Many countries such as China, Italy, the United States, Germany, India and Britain have unified into

Essay about World Peace is NOT Possible
Due to the nature of humankind, the imbalance in wealth and power, and diversity in culture and religion global peace is not a genuine possibility.
First, I will define human nature from a biblical prospective. I will then examine the state of nature in the context of Glaucon and Thomas Hobbes.
Finally, I will draw on the literature of Immanuel Kant, and Jean Baudrillard. For the greater good within us, we would all like to live in a world
without war, a world where competition is replaced by co–operation and individual freedom. However, this will never be; it was from the beginning of
creation, that the internal violence or conflict within humankind was manifested. Genesis 4:8, stated that, "Cain killed his brother Abel...show more

In the article titled, "The spirit of Terrorism", by Jean Baudrillard, 2001, He captures the notion that "evil is everywhere and is an
incomprehensible object of desire" (pp.1). He further went on to explain that war is horrific and demeaning to humanity but it has its
contribution. Furthermore, war ended, European supremacy and the colonial era, Nazism and Communism. I support this argument, there is evil
all around us, lurking in wait. Many would argue that with war comes great suffering and pain, lost of lives, years of civilization has been wiped
out with just a bomb and individuals who survive war are often emotionally, physically, and psychological damage. For example, when the U.S.
dropped the bomb on Hiroshima. To rebuild a country to its original state after a war takes years but there is just cause for war. Hence, in the
context of war done to achieve what is deemed as the greater good, we can draw on the example of eliminating Nazism, European reined and the fall
of Sadam Hussian. Indeed, many innocent people lost their lives but the consequences of war are bloodshed and suffering. Glaucon myth, on the
Ring of Gyges revealed that all people are essentially egoistic and a good person is easily corrupted if the opportunity presents itself. Even though this
is a myth, I do believe it has a potential to be true. Take the military, marine, and the navy for example, both men and woman, have

World Peace Through Music Essay

World Peace The only things we hear on the news lately are what country is getting bombed, who hates who, and the sheer number of people dying
every day. There is too much discrimination, madness, and anger circulating through our world right now. We have soldiers dying every day for our
country in a war that could be stopped with peaceful actions. Instead, we have become oblivious to what is going on around us. Music has always
tried to make people more aware of today's problems. Johnny Depp said, "Music touches us emotionally, where words alone can't." It has been the
intention of singers and songwriters that mutual respect and understanding of our differences is the...show more content...
In the song, "Waiting On The World To Change" by John Mayer it explains how our generation is expecting the people in charge to make changes
in the world when in fact, we can be making changes by just standing up to issues we feel passionate about. John Mayer sings, "Now we see
everything that's going wrong with the world and those who lead it we just feel like we don't have the means to rise above it and beat it." Again,
this quote expresses that young people don't feel like they have a say to change anything about the world. A second quote says, "Now if we had the
power to bring our neighbors home from war they would have never missed a Christmas no more ribbons on their door." This is saying that the
people in the world want to bring the troops home and let them be away from all that violence. A last quote states, "It's not that we don't care we just
know that the fight ain't fair so we keep on waiting, waiting on the world to change." This quote is describing people who think that they don't have a
chance in changing anything, so they are standing back and waiting for others to do something that actually have power. Picturing a world with peace
and love throughout is pretty difficult to think about nowadays and this issue has been a problem for quite a while. In the song, "Imagine" by John
Lennon it explains his dream for a perfect world with love and wants people to join him in his hunger for world peace. In the song he sings, "Imagine

Why We Never Need to Worry about World Peace
World Peace is something that will never happen. Too many countries have too much military power and don't want to give in to any other country.
War is something that the world is going to have to deal with because there has been very few years over the history of the world that have been
war free. Like one quote by an unknown author says, "Peace is rare: less than 8% of the time since the beginning of recorded time has the world been
entirely at peace. In a total of 3530 years, 286 have been warless. Eight thousand treaties have been broken in this time."

In 1980 Graham dedicated the center. In 1992 it was announced by the BGEA that Billy Graham had Parkinson's disease, and he would be easing
back a little on his busy schedule. (Billy Graham Center Archives)
Billy Graham once said, "We must have military power to keep madmen from taking over the world." What he is trying to say is if a country has a
lot of military power that will deter someone from trying to take it over. It will make people think twice about trying to take over a country with a
powerful military, but it won't prevent all attacks from outside enemies. Just look at what happened on September 11, 2001. The U.S has one of
the most powerful militaries in the world and still got attacked. Hijackers ran two jets into the World Trade Center towers. Eventually the two
towers came crashing to the ground. President Bush stayed in the air on board Air Force One shortly after the attacks, but later addressed the nation
and said that he condemns evil and despicable acts and vowed revenge on whoever did it. (NYTimes) Some of the witnesses described the scene as
follows: "I'm so scared", "It took an hour to get out. Sometimes it was calm and orderly, other times it was complete bedlam", " I thought it was an
earthquake at first", and " People just kept jumping and jumping and jumping and you could still see they were alive because they were flailing
around." (ABC News) Those were just some quotes from eyewitnesses. That is just one example of how a

War and Peace
The greater threat to world peace in the 20s, 30s, and 40s is a point that could be argued and debated upon for essays on piles of essays. The true
threats of world peace were those who were naГЇve enough to believe that a people can be totally humiliated as the Germans were in the Treaty of
Versailles following World War I and not be subject to promises of regained glory. Throughout the 1920s, the world was relatively peaceful
–save
perhaps the Italian "revolution" by Mussolini who had his Fascist government set up fully by the year 1926 and the Beer Hall Putsch led by Adolf Hitler
in 1923.
With the crushing of the revolution by the Bavarian government (which was completely riddled full of...show more content...
He was then able to win a significant portion of the election of 1932 and was then appointed German Chancellor, but when the German President died
in 1934, the true march to the end of world peace was on. It first began with the attempt to acquire Austria as part of the German country, but that
attempt was quickly smacked down due to threats by Mussolini to use his own armies to stop Hitler's advance. However, this backbone was not
exerted by other "Allied Powers" of World War I. The United States had taken a isolationist stand on European politics, the only benefactors being the
new Fascist regimes in Europe. In 1934, Germany began open rearmament of its military and participated in the Spanish Revolution–a sort of sandbox
to play with their newly developed weapons and "Blitzkrieg" tactics. (http://www.sta.cathedral.org/depts/history/cho/ch20e.html)
With the growing power of Fascism in Europe, Britain and France were hoping to have a war between the newly formed USSR and Nazi Germany in
which both governments would destroy one another. The USSR, a French ally, was growing continually tired of France and Britain's appeasement
of Hitler. The "enforcing powers" (France and Britain) of the Versailles Treaty now basically giving Hitler a blank check to any area of land that he
wanted as long as he would be "satisfied." A game that had been played over the past two years

  • 1. Peace GLOBAL PEACE – FROM WHAT SOURCE? Song 65 1 MULTITUDES YEARN FOR GLOBAL PEACE On 28 June 1914 a hand grenade was rolled beneath a car travelling in a motorcade in the city of Sarajevo in Yugoslavia. The grenade missed its intended target and exploded beneath the following car, injuring several people. The first car continued on its way and the occupants attended a welcome ceremony at the Sarajevo Town Hall. Just a short time later, the VIPs from the first car decided to visit the injured ones who had been taken to the local hospital. On the way there the car stalled, this provided an opportunity for another assassin to shoot and kill the Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria, the Heir to the Austrian Empire and his wife...show more content... 5.00 2 GLOBAL PEACE NOT ATTAINABLE THROUGH HUMAN EFFORTS What has been noted by Historians and scholars has been the effect of WW1 on World Peace. Since the end of that war there has been numerous attempts by mankind to put in place systems to prevent conflicts and ensure we can live in a worldwide peace. Yet can anyone say we live in a peaceful world? Well no we do not. Is it because mankind has lacked effort in trying to make a lasting Peace? Perhaps we can examine efforts to create a worldwide peace but before we do so lets just see what the Bible has to say about man controlling his own destiny. If we can turn to Jeremiah 10:23 Another scripture we can examine echoes this theme Ecclesiastes 8:9 So we can see that the Bible questions the ability of humans to control their own destiny. Well these words were written thousands of years ago– so what has History proven about our ability to bring about worldwide peaceful conditions for mankind. Modern History is littered with Treaties and Peace Agreements... yet we still live in a World dominated by unrest, conflict and ....war. The Treaty of Versailles was the first treaty signed after the end of the First World War and it was a peace settlement between the main combatants in that war. The Treaty though had contentious and controversial points and the politicians of the day knew they urgently needed something else– anything – to bring Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. What Is Peace? Essay Humans are obsessed with categorizing. We split the people and things of the world into millions of groups and give them names, characteristics, and stereotypes. Ethnicity, sexuality, religion, political view, genus and species: these all reflect the human's constant need to note, name, and categorize. Still not convinced? Look at a dictionary. The fact that it was even created proves a tendency of the human mind to solidify things, their category, their characteristics, and their definition. Most brains do not do well with the abstract noun. Words like love, justice, fairness, and peace bounce about and cannot be tamed by a definition. This doesn't stop humans though. Our constant need to classify and define still raises the incessant...show more content... She brings up the creation of the United Nations after WWII and the atomic bomb, in order to exhibit the willingness of nations to strive collectively for peace post–disaster. Corkalo claims that humans have natural psychological instincts that result in protectiveness and pride for the social, religious, political, or racial group they belong to. This sense of self–importance and righteousness is the root problem of most conflict. Corkalo believes that peace education would work to create intercultural training programs that break down the barriers of misconceptions, stereotypes, and discriminations, while maintaining the worth and validity of each social group. Corkalo's proposal is ideal. I agree that giving the young generation the key to intercultural understanding, equal opportunity, and worth would bring great peace. The decomposition of peace for the purpose of education is a fascinating process that unveils its complexity and relevance to nearly all subjects. However, it is so complex that to teach its vast array of components appears to be nearly impossible. If peace were attempted to be taught internationally, students would take extensive amounts of classes in the fields of sociology, psychology, theology, political science, languages, and history. • 3. World Peace All the world over people crave for peace. The leaders and politicians of the world are trying to achieve world peace. But many difficulties come in the way. There is fear and suspicion among nations. Russia suspects the motives of American. America likewise does not trust Russia. Pakistan says that it is afraid of India. That is way she is aiming herself with latest weapons. Some countries are very much advance in science. Their economic condition is far superior to that of others. Such countries want to dominate weaker countries. They exploit them. This creates tension and other conflicts break out here and there. While peace has been established in Vietnam, the Middle East is still the danger spot of the world. Indian and Pakistan...show more content... The statistics show that elimination of each gangster costs lives of around six civilians besides security personnel. It is tragic and appalling. Residents of the violence–wracked locality have been shifting to safer places to avert attacks. They are also faced with severe food shortage and continuous failure of electricity and gas supply. Who are these gangsters and criminals? The locality is considered to be bastion of Pakistan People's Party and criminals against whom the targeted operation is being carried out were once considered beloved of the PPP top leadership. The PPP top leaders have not only been patronizing alleged goons like Uzair Jan Baloch but also declared them as heroes and champion of peace. Baloch was chief of defunct Peoples Aman Committee, an armed wing of the PPP Karachi chapter. Now, leadership of the PPP might have realized the fact that these people are actually bringing a bad name to the party. Uzair Bloch and his other notorious accomplices including Habib Jan Baloch and Zafar Baloch have quit the PPP in reaction to the operation against them. Having lived in Karachi for more than seven years, I personally know all these are infamous drug–pushers, extortionists and arms dealers. They have set up their own militias in the locality and are involved in smuggling different contrabands from Balochistan and Iran as well. Why are they so powerful? The goons have had their contacts in the corridors of power and they also grease palms of the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. World Peace WORLD PEACE & SECURITY WORLD PEACE World peace is an ideal of freedom, peace, and happiness among and within all nations and/or people. World peace is an idea of planetary non–violence by which nations willingly cooperate, either voluntarily or by virtue of a system of governance that prevents warfare. The term is sometimes used to refer to a cessation of all hostility among all individuals. For example, World Peace could be crossing boundaries via human rights, technology, education, engineering, medicine, diplomats and/or an end to all forms of fighting. ––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– Possibility While world peace is theoretically possible, some believe that human nature inherently prevents it.[1][2] This...show more content... United Nations Charter and International law After the World War II, United Nations has been established by United Nations Charter to "save successing generations from the two scourge of war which twice in our lifetime has brought untold sorrow to mankind".[17] The Preamble to the United Nations Charter also aims to regain faith in fundamental human rights, to respect obligation of sources of international law as well as to unite our strength to maintain international peace and security. And all treaties on international human rights law recall or consider "the principles proclaimed in the Chater of the United Nations, recognition of the inherent dignity and of the equal and inalienable rights of all members of the human family is the foundation of freedom, justice and peace in the world". Globalization Gordon B. Hinkley saw a trend in national politics by which city–states and nation–states have unified, and suggest that the international arena will eventually follow suit. • 5. Essay about World Peace is NOT Possible Due to the nature of humankind, the imbalance in wealth and power, and diversity in culture and religion global peace is not a genuine possibility. First, I will define human nature from a biblical prospective. I will then examine the state of nature in the context of Glaucon and Thomas Hobbes. Finally, I will draw on the literature of Immanuel Kant, and Jean Baudrillard. For the greater good within us, we would all like to live in a world without war, a world where competition is replaced by co–operation and individual freedom. However, this will never be; it was from the beginning of creation, that the internal violence or conflict within humankind was manifested. Genesis 4:8, stated that, "Cain killed his brother Abel...show more content... In the article titled, "The spirit of Terrorism", by Jean Baudrillard, 2001, He captures the notion that "evil is everywhere and is an incomprehensible object of desire" (pp.1). He further went on to explain that war is horrific and demeaning to humanity but it has its contribution. Furthermore, war ended, European supremacy and the colonial era, Nazism and Communism. I support this argument, there is evil all around us, lurking in wait. Many would argue that with war comes great suffering and pain, lost of lives, years of civilization has been wiped out with just a bomb and individuals who survive war are often emotionally, physically, and psychological damage. For example, when the U.S. dropped the bomb on Hiroshima. To rebuild a country to its original state after a war takes years but there is just cause for war. Hence, in the context of war done to achieve what is deemed as the greater good, we can draw on the example of eliminating Nazism, European reined and the fall of Sadam Hussian. Indeed, many innocent people lost their lives but the consequences of war are bloodshed and suffering. Glaucon myth, on the Ring of Gyges revealed that all people are essentially egoistic and a good person is easily corrupted if the opportunity presents itself. Even though this is a myth, I do believe it has a potential to be true. Take the military, marine, and the navy for example, both men and woman, have Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. World Peace Through Music Essay Julia Cubbedge Mr. Loza English 10/ Period 4 13 September 2012 World Peace The only things we hear on the news lately are what country is getting bombed, who hates who, and the sheer number of people dying every day. There is too much discrimination, madness, and anger circulating through our world right now. We have soldiers dying every day for our country in a war that could be stopped with peaceful actions. Instead, we have become oblivious to what is going on around us. Music has always tried to make people more aware of today's problems. Johnny Depp said, "Music touches us emotionally, where words alone can't." It has been the intention of singers and songwriters that mutual respect and understanding of our differences is the...show more content... In the song, "Waiting On The World To Change" by John Mayer it explains how our generation is expecting the people in charge to make changes in the world when in fact, we can be making changes by just standing up to issues we feel passionate about. John Mayer sings, "Now we see everything that's going wrong with the world and those who lead it we just feel like we don't have the means to rise above it and beat it." Again, this quote expresses that young people don't feel like they have a say to change anything about the world. A second quote says, "Now if we had the power to bring our neighbors home from war they would have never missed a Christmas no more ribbons on their door." This is saying that the people in the world want to bring the troops home and let them be away from all that violence. A last quote states, "It's not that we don't care we just know that the fight ain't fair so we keep on waiting, waiting on the world to change." This quote is describing people who think that they don't have a chance in changing anything, so they are standing back and waiting for others to do something that actually have power. Picturing a world with peace and love throughout is pretty difficult to think about nowadays and this issue has been a problem for quite a while. In the song, "Imagine" by John Lennon it explains his dream for a perfect world with love and wants people to join him in his hunger for world peace. In the song he sings, "Imagine Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. War and World Peace Why We Never Need to Worry about World Peace World Peace is something that will never happen. Too many countries have too much military power and don't want to give in to any other country. War is something that the world is going to have to deal with because there has been very few years over the history of the world that have been war free. Like one quote by an unknown author says, "Peace is rare: less than 8% of the time since the beginning of recorded time has the world been entirely at peace. In a total of 3530 years, 286 have been warless. Eight thousand treaties have been broken in this time." In 1992 it was announced by the BGEA that Billy Graham had Parkinson's disease, and he would be easing back a little on his busy schedule. (Billy Graham Center Archives) Billy Graham once said, "We must have military power to keep madmen from taking over the world." What he is trying to say is if a country has a lot of military power that will deter someone from trying to take it over. It will make people think twice about trying to take over a country with a powerful military, but it won't prevent all attacks from outside enemies. Just look at what happened on September 11, 2001. The U.S has one of the most powerful militaries in the world and still got attacked. Hijackers ran two jets into the World Trade Center towers. Eventually the two towers came crashing to the ground. President Bush stayed in the air on board Air Force One shortly after the attacks, but later addressed the nation and said that he condemns evil and despicable acts and vowed revenge on whoever did it. (NYTimes) Some of the witnesses described the scene as follows: "I'm so scared", "It took an hour to get out. Sometimes it was calm and orderly, other times it was complete bedlam", " I thought it was an earthquake at first", and " People just kept jumping and jumping and jumping and you could still see they were alive because they were flailing around." (ABC News) Those were just some quotes from eyewitnesses. That is just one example of how a Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. War and Peace Essay War and Peace The greater threat to world peace in the 20s, 30s, and 40s is a point that could be argued and debated upon for essays on piles of essays. The true threats of world peace were those who were naГЇve enough to believe that a people can be totally humiliated as the Germans were in the Treaty of Versailles following World War I and not be subject to promises of regained glory. Throughout the 1920s, the world was relatively peaceful –save perhaps the Italian "revolution" by Mussolini who had his Fascist government set up fully by the year 1926 and the Beer Hall Putsch led by Adolf Hitler in 1923. With the crushing of the revolution by the Bavarian government (which was completely riddled full of...show more content... He was then able to win a significant portion of the election of 1932 and was then appointed German Chancellor, but when the German President died in 1934, the true march to the end of world peace was on. It first began with the attempt to acquire Austria as part of the German country, but that attempt was quickly smacked down due to threats by Mussolini to use his own armies to stop Hitler's advance. However, this backbone was not exerted by other "Allied Powers" of World War I. The United States had taken a isolationist stand on European politics, the only benefactors being the new Fascist regimes in Europe. In 1934, Germany began open rearmament of its military and participated in the Spanish Revolution–a sort of sandbox to play with their newly developed weapons and "Blitzkrieg" tactics. (http://www.sta.cathedral.org/depts/history/cho/ch20e.html) With the growing power of Fascism in Europe, Britain and France were hoping to have a war between the newly formed USSR and Nazi Germany in which both governments would destroy one another. The USSR, a French ally, was growing continually tired of France and Britain's appeasement of Hitler. The "enforcing powers" (France and Britain) of the Versailles Treaty now basically giving Hitler a blank check to any area of land that he wanted as long as he would be "satisfied."
