On the occasion of our PDA’s 11th National Dental Health Month Celebration, the
Philippine Dental Association Photo Contest Committee humbly invites you to
participate in our National Dental Health Month Celebration scheduled on February 1,
2015.
This 11th National Dental Health Month will feature Photography Contest. Winning
photos will be included in the PDA Calendar 2015.
The Photo Contest is open to all Dentists of different Chapters and Affiliates,
participants must be an active member of Philippine Dental Association. We seek for
your participation, in joining the photo contest to help us make this endeavour a
success. Details for rules and guidelines are enclosed with this letter for your perusal.
Please register your organization as soon as possible so we can include you in our
roster of distinguished participants for the Photo contest. Deadline of submission of
Photo entries will be on January 5, 2015.

11th NDHM PHOTO CONTEST
RULES AND MECHANICS
1. The photo contest is open to all licensed active members of the Philippine Dental
Association (PDA) with the theme: “Nakangiti ang Kinabukasan, kapag Ngipin ay
Pinangangalagaan”, participants may choose to interpret or capture any photo in line
with the 11th National Dental Health Month’s theme.
2. Participating chapters must register their chapter/affiliate organization not later than
November 15, 2014 in order to signify their intention to join the photo contest by
sending a letter of intent through email addressed to:

3. Photos must be taken within the period of October 10, 2014 to January 5, 2015. Only
Photographs of different categories given in relation to Dentistry are eligible.
4. Only Original unpublished (social media/newspaper/magazine) pictures are allowed.
5. Photos may be taken with film or digital cameras. Entries from digital sources must have
sufficient resolution and minimal JPEG damage for enlargement to 10 X 15 inches. (See
rule #13 for your reference)
6. Digital Alterations and composites are allowed. In case of composites, all elements or
images used must have been taken by the photographer.
7. Entries must be 8 X 10 inches in COLOR or BLACK & WHITE prints, borders (optional)
not to exceed 1 inch on any side, unmounted and without identifying marks on the front
of the photo. Inkjet, color laser, dye sub printouts from desktop printers are not allowed.
(See rule #13 for your reference)
8. Photographer may submit maximum of 6 entries per category and must only represent
one accredited PDA organization chapter/affiliate.
3. 9. Top 6 of each B&W and Colored category and their corresponding negatives or digital
files shall become the property of the Philippine Dental Association, and may be
reproduced or published in any form in any media for promotional, education,
administrative, or other purposes without further remuneration of any kind to the owners
of the photographs.
10. Submission of entries is strictly on January 5, 2015. Photos of 12 finalists per category
(B&W and Colored ) will be exhibited during the Luzon Area Convention on January 22,
2015. But only 6 entries per category will be chosen as winning photos which will be
announced during the 11th NDHM Opening Ceremonies in February 1, 2015.
11. Inside a sealed envelope submit photo entry with CD OR THUMB DRIVE copy in
BLACK & WHITE or COLORED category with the original file and edited/enhanced file)
a piece of paper taped to the back of each print, write the following information:
Photographer’s name, with PRC number, contact numbers,
chapter / affiliate organization, and signatures.
The very act of submitting an entry and/or affixing his or her
signature to the entry constitutes the photographer’s
acceptance of all the rules of the contest.
12. All Entries must be submitted to:

NOTE: Mailed entries will be received by the PDA secretariat
13. Finalists in each category are required to submit the corresponding negative or digital
file (in RGB TIFF format, at least 2400 X 3600 pixels) or risk disqualification. Digimark
watermarks or other identifying marks on the image are absolutely disallowed. No
JPEGs or GIFs please.
14. Any violation of these rules, such as refusal to submit the corresponding negative or
digital file or entering photographs taken at another time, shall result in outright
disqualification.
15. Prizes not claimed after the awarding shall be forfeited in favor of the 11th NDHM
organizers.
16. Participants may claim non-winning entries starting February 1, 2015 at the Philippine
Dental Association building in Makati City. Prints not claimed after February 28, 2015,
will be disposed of in any way the organizers see fit, or at the option of the 11th NDHM
organizers, be included in the PDA’s photo library without any further obligations to the
respective photographers.
