8. It is important to me because I plan to further my education in the medical field so I may come across this subject.

9. I hope to learn from this paper on how bipolar disorder affects the lives of individuals.

12. It is characterized by extreme changes in mood from happy or hyper emotions or mania to calmer emotions such as sadness or depression.

13. It is a serious mental illness that can cause serious problems with daily lifestyles, and even lead to suicidal attempts.

14. About 1 – 2 million Americans suffer from this disorder.

16. However, studies have shown that high or low level of neurotransmitters such dopamine and serotonin tends to lead to the disorder.
