3. PET CREMATION ORDER IS CREATED
• Pet order is entered into PCS
system at the Back office, Vet
Portal, or mobile PCS device
• The pickup schedule is
automatically created by PCS
system or can be manually set
up
• The pet owner can access the
Pet Owner portal to select urns,
special services {such as paw
prints, engraving}, etc. and
provide approval to cremate
• The Vet hospital prints and
attaches the bar coded Pet Tag
to the appropriate pet.
• For a Pet Owner pickup, the
crematory provides the printed
bar coded Pet Tag for the drivers
to attach to pet at pickup
4. PET PICK-UP
• Driver follows Route that
identifies all Vet and Pet Owner
pickups
• The driver scans the barcode on
the Pet Tag which updates the
pet status in the PCS system
• A pickup/delivery receipt is
printed for the clinic to verify the
pick-up of pet(s)
• Any pets that were scheduled to
be picked up and have not been
scanned are identified to the
driver at each stop
5. • Cremation is performed
– Pet Tag is scanned before being
placed in crematorium. Popup alert
displays at cremation scan if a special
service has not been verified or the
Pet Owner has placed the pet on
hold.
– Based on placement of pet in
individual partitions (where
undertaken), verification is achieved
when the cremains are ready, to
assure the proper cremains go with
the proper order.
– Cremains are moved to the Urn
station.
• The pet is delivered to the crematory
and scanned to update the pet status
in PCS and Clinic Portal
• Within the Crematory, the Pet Tag is
scanned at each stage of the cremation
process (our Crematory Chain of
Custody {CCC}) which automatically
changes the pet status at each stage.
• Pre-Cremation Special Services,
including Paw Prints, Hair clippings,
paw casting or other pre-cremation
services, are performed and verified
and scanned upon completion. Labels
are printed for the special services
contained on the order.
PET CREMATION PROCESS
6. • At the Urn station, the Pet Tag is
scanned in order to match the pet
cremains with the model of the Urn
on the Pet Tag to verify and confirm
correct cremains are with the order.
• An Urn label is printed and final
inspection /Quality Assurance is
undertaken. (This can be an
additional scanning point.)
• Urn is packaged and placed with
other packaged goods for the order
and placed in the driver’s bin for
return.
URN PROCESSING
