The document summarizes an android application called STRESSFREE that was developed by students to help reduce anxiety in other students. The application uses questionnaires to assess a user's anxiety level and provides suggestions tailored to their situation and score. It was tested through prototypes and user feedback was positive about the interface and ability to get useful advice for anxiety issues. The goal is to conduct further research and improve the application's features, such as adding media files to suggestions, to help more users manage their anxiety through practical self-help methods.
This document discusses how consumers use the internet and social media for health information. About half of US adults own smartphones and 17% use them to look up health information. Social media allows for direct communication between patients and providers and the sharing of health experiences. However, privacy and unreliable information are concerns. The role of nurses includes disseminating effective health information online and enhancing provider-patient communication through technology.

Health Insurance Information Needs: How Librarians Can Helpevardell
Objectives: It is a widely perceived but poorly documented problem that many individuals lack clear understanding of health insurance. Librarians can address the unmet information needs that leave many unable to make appropriate health insurance choices. For those with lower levels of health insurance literacy, the ability to procure appropriate levels of health insurance coverage may be limited, which can have dire effects on individuals’ health statuses.
Methods: This study employed semi-structured interviews to explore how newly hired employees at a large university in the southeastern United States understand health insurance concepts and make health insurance purchase decisions. This paper will offer examples of the information needs they described and an analysis of the trends across individuals.
Results: Participants divulged a lack of understanding of insurance-related terminology (e.g., coinsurance). Their confidence in navigating the health insurance system decreased as education levels increased (i.e., those with a doctoral degree reported the lowest level of confidence in navigating health insurance enrollment). Participants also expressed difficulty in locating insurance information resources that were unbiased. These findings underscore an important role that librarians can play in providing access to unbiased, authoritative definitions of health insurance terms.
Conclusion: The collected data form the foundation for the construction of a model of the health insurance decision-making process and offer insight to the library and information science community on how to support health insurance information needs. The proposed model and discussion demonstrate continued difficulty with understanding health insurance concepts and the factors which impact health insurance literacy and decision-making.

The document summarizes a study that examined the effects of emotionally charged pet images (positive, negative, or a mix) on viewers' intentions to act. The study found that negatively charged images led to greater reported willingness to donate or contact an organization compared to positive or mixed images. However, positive images were rated as most liked. The results suggest negative images may be better for eliciting actions while positive images are preferred.
Online resources for treatment of eating disordersJulia Glassman
This document discusses online resources for the treatment of eating disorders. It begins by outlining some key statistics about eating disorders, including their high mortality rate and low treatment rates. It then discusses how treatment resistance is common, due to factors like shame, stigma, and cost concerns. The document proposes that online counseling can help address some of these barriers through features like anonymity, accessibility, and lower costs. It examines different online counseling modalities and treatments, like CBT and support groups. It also discusses ethical considerations, the need for specialized online counseling training, and challenges like the lack of nonverbal cues. Finally, it acknowledges the role of pro-eating disorder websites and potential for online resources to both help and harm those with eating disorders

The team conducted user research including interviews and a survey to understand stress, anxiety, and self-care practices of young professionals aged 25-35. They discovered that stress and anxiety negatively impact health and well-being. The team defined the problem as a need to better equip users to manage stress and anxiety so they can reach their full potential. They developed a self-care app called Feather to offer effective stress and anxiety coping tools like breathing exercises. The team iterated on user flows, wireframes and a prototype based on usability testing feedback to create a simple, minimalist app experience focused on proven self-care methods.
This document describes a mobile application called the Mental Health Tracker app. The app aims to monitor and stabilize a user's mood by having them complete various activities like breathing exercises, listening to music, reading jokes, and maintaining a to-do list. The app also displays the user's mental state over time through graphs. It was created to help people struggling with mental health issues like anxiety and depression by providing simple activities and tracking their progress. The goal of the app is to only stabilize a user's mood, not diagnose or label them with any conditions. It also provides contact information for mental health experts if a user wants further assistance.

Programmatic purposes and outcomes
Select and discuss three programmatic purposes and outcomes that should be evaluated. In your discussion, provide the rationale for the purposes and outcomes selected. It will be assumed the purposes and outcomes selected were influenced by the program being evaluated.
The program that I will be discussing is human service programs. In the abiding endeavor to enhance human service programs, service providers, policy makers and funders are more and more recognizing the significance of thorough program evaluations. They want to know what the programs achieve, what they spend, and how they must be operated to attain maximum cost efficiency. They want to recognize which programs function for which groups, and they need endings based on proof, as opposed to impassioned pleas and testimonials. The purposes should state the extensive, extensive range result that maintains the mission of the program, including content information areas, performance prospects, and values anticipated of program graduates. Purposes can be stated in wider and more stirring language than outcomes that have to be measurable and specific. Outcome is the reason nonprofit organizations struggle to build capacity and deliver programs. Measurement of outcomes is the systematic way of assessing the extent to which a program has attained its intended results.
The programmatic purposes and outcomes that should be evaluated include:
Programmatic purposes
· To monitor functions for the Health and Human Services department.
Without departments, the purpose or goals of human services would be very hard to fulfill. Human services is a very large sector that entails a wide range of skills, knowledge and disciplines focused on enhancing the well being of human both collectively and individually. Just like there are a lot of sectors in human services, so too there are a huge variety of functions of the human service programs that need to be evaluated so as to accomplish the purpose of the program (Connell, Kubisch, Schorr & Weiss, 1995). One of the programmatic purposes of human service programs is to monitor functions for the Health and Human Services department. Any department or even sector requires frequent checks to make sure that it is functioning well and according to the purpose. This purpose is very crucial in the execution of the human service program goals. It needs to be evaluated to make sure that the functions of the health and human service department are in line with the programmatic purposes of the program.
· Assessing internal control over compliance requirements to provide reasonable assurance.
The compliance requirements are very crucial in every program as they make sure that the program is in line with its goals and makes sure it works towards achieving its stipulated outcomes. This purpose needs to be evaluated to m ...
This document discusses how to effectively communicate program impacts to intended users. It emphasizes the importance of:
1) Clarifying the specific impacts, or "of what" and "on what", through a well-defined program theory of change.
2) Understanding the intended users, or "for whom", by identifying their decision needs and how findings will be applied.
3) Designing impact evaluations and reports that meet the specific information needs of intended users so findings can be believed and applied to inform decisions.
This presentation is the continuation of the first part, which was all about the basics of program evaluation. This ppt contains slides describing the impact evaluation in details and also the logical framework is also explained with practical examples.

This document proposes a program called Teen Drugs Abuse and Addiction Intervention (TDAAI) that aims to address drug abuse and addiction among teens through prevention, treatment, and management services. The program's goals are to provide necessary services to struggling teens over five years. It will utilize human relations and human resource models in its organizational structure and coordinate between intake, clinical management, and supervision/evaluation departments. Data collection will track client demographics, drug use, clinical progress, and follow-ups to evaluate program outcomes. The conclusion emphasizes that substance abuse among teens is a public health crisis and this program can help set affected teens on a path to recovery.

This document proposes a framework for evaluating mental health smartphone applications. It notes that while such apps have potential to extend mental health services, most have not been rigorously evaluated for efficacy, safety, or quality. The framework suggests apps be evaluated based on three dimensions: usefulness, usability, and integration/infrastructure. Specific criteria are outlined for each dimension to allow clinicians and patients to assess apps.

Goals and Scope of the Project
The purpose of this project is to discuss chronic diseases as a significant issue affecting many communities in the United States. Over the past decade, chronic illness has been reported as one of the leading health issues affecting many communities in the United States. Therefore, this project seeks to discuss the significant chronic diseases currently rampant in American communities and the most vulnerable individuals to contract this illness.
The range of this research will involve performing in-depth analysis to identify the most appropriate methods of addressing chronic issues to reduce the number of infection among members of communities in the United States. The project will assess the possible challenges that might be involved when addressing chronic issues.
Background of Chronic Disease in the Florida States
Chronic illness is human diseases that are persistent or considered to be long-lasting in their effects. In the United States, particularly the State of Florida, a chronic condition is a rampant health issue that affects many groups of people, especially older people. The common public health issues that have been reported over the past 10 years include obesity, diabetes, asthma, arthritis, and cancer (Chapel, Ritchey, Zhang, & Wang, 2017).
The State of Florida is one of the states in the United States, where cases of chronic illness have been highly reported over the last decade. The problem arises from human living conditions, unlike acute illness, which is considered to occur through unknown circumstances. According to the Centers for Diseases Control and Prevention (CDC), the issue of chronic diseases started to attract the attention of members of the public in early 2000 (Chapel et al., 2017). At the moment, cases of diabetes and obesity are topping the list of much chronic illness affecting many Americans. Since 2005, the United States governments have been spending a lot of money to provide medication to people affected by chronic diseases.
Currently, chronic illness is considered a lifestyle condition because it affects many people in every part of the world. The issue of chronic disease has led to an increase in the cost of health care in many countries across the globe. At the moment, governments of different nations are forced to increase their allocation for health sectors to provide medication chronic illness patients (Dinh et al., 2016). As such, it is essential to discuss this issue that has created more pressure in the state of Florida and other parts of the United ...

Unit Lesson Study Guide
In Unit 4, we will continue to discuss health behavior and its association with factors that could influence such behaviors. These types of influences are referred to as multilevel factors of behaviors, and they typically fall into five main categories:
1. individual factors,
2. inter-personal factors,
3. organizational factors,
4. community factors, and
5. policy factors
Consider the following scenario:
A 50-year-old man may purposely postpone getting a prostate cancer test because he is scared of finding out that he may have prostate cancer. This is an example of an individual- level factor. However, we need to look into this further and consider the following: his inaction might also be influenced by his primary physician’s failure to actually recommend and insist that he would need to take the prostate test. Another factor might be the difficulty of scheduling an appointment due to either unavailable equipment or the unavailability of staff at his local clinic. Another limiting factor could be that the fee for the exam is so high he cannot afford it, and his insurance does not cover this type of procedure. Thus, all these interpersonal, organizational, and policy factors are influencing this man’s behavior to not complete the prostate test. Therefore, for health promotion practitioners, it is very important to be aware of all these factors so effective change strategies or interventions can be prescribed.
One of the multilevel theories that will be discussed is the Theory of Triadic Influence (TTI). TTI behaviors arise due to one’s current social situation, general cultural environment, and their personal characteristics. Any health-related behaviors are influenced by an individual’s decisions.

ncorporating Technology in Community-Based Learning
We live in a world in which we need to share responsibility. It’s easy to say “It’s not my child, not my community, not my world, not my problem.” Then there are those who see the need and respond. I consider those people my heroes.
—
Mr. Rogers, American educator and television host
Nurses hold great power both inside and outside of clinical settings. Patients and communities rely on nurses for information, care, and strategic leadership. As such, nurse educators must equip their students with the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary for successful interactions with local and global communities. Since bridging the gap between academia and authentic experience can be difficult to accomplish inside the classroom, many universities have incorporated service learning into their curriculum. Service learning, a type of experiential learning, allows nursing students to collaborate with geographic (location-based) and functional (health-based) communities. Many times, this collaboration allows nursing students to examine the external factors that are impacting patient education and health. Technology, a generally positive external factor, has had an increased emphasis in these service learning experiences.
In this Discussion, you use the scenario provided below to imagine that you are involved with a service learning project that uses technology to address community-based learning needs.
Scenario:
This semester, you are taking a course that has a service learning component. During the first week of the class, you selected your community-based population and eagerly set out to make a difference. Over the next few weeks, you interacted with patients and documented their medical questions and health concerns. You also met with nursing professionals to hear their accounts of working with this specific community of patients. Upon personal reflection, you have noticed that not only has your empathy for this community increased but so has your awareness and self-confidence. As you come closer to the end of your semester and thus your final project, you meet with your instructor to discuss expectations. Your instructor acknowledges your hard work and commends you for the reputation that you have built in such a short amount of time. She feels that you have really become close to this community and as such, would like your final project to be a PowerPoint presentation that highlights the learning needs of the community. In your presentation, she would like you to incorporate a technology that could be adopted into a new community-based program. As you thank your instructor for the opportunity, she hands you a document that outlines your PowerPoint expectations.
To prepare
Reflect on the health-centered learning needs of patients in your community, communities with which you are familiar, or communities abroad. Consider not only patients grouped b.

The document discusses chronic diseases as persistent health issues that affect many communities in the United States and other parts of the world. Common chronic diseases reported over the past 10 years include obesity, diabetes, asthma, arthritis, and cancer. The rising number of chronic disease cases has increased health care costs globally and forced governments to allocate more funding to health sectors. Project management approaches may help address chronic diseases by defining the problems, determining causes, generating solutions, and selecting the best options. However, these approaches also have disadvantages like increased complexity and high costs.

COMMENTS: Solid effort, Maria. Unfortunately, this assignment needed a good “once-over” prior to final submission. There were so many concerns – including grammar, punctuation, sentences made no sense, APA style, etc. – noted in just the first two paragraphs that I stopped my review of your assignment at this point. Being that you are in your 11 course in the program, this is problematic, to say the least. Please see my feedback below for details. That being said, you must contact the Academic Success Center (ASC) to work with a writing coach to address these and other notable issues with your writing, else you will have a difficult time from here on out in the program.
As always, when you open this document, make sure you go to the toolbar at the top of your screen and click the ‘Review’ link. From there, go to the right, click the dropdown, then click ‘All Markup’ to view all of my feedback (including any Track Changes, highlighted in-text comments, and ‘Comments’ bubbles located in the right-hand margin of the document).Identify Project Need and Scope Definition

Utilization Based Evaluation In Mental HealthPaul Frankel
The document discusses intended uses of evaluation findings and stakeholder engagement in the evaluation process. It notes that different stakeholders may have different information needs, and that stakeholder commitment is important. It emphasizes that evaluations should be useful and actually used by intended users in order to make decisions and improve programs. The document also discusses challenges in evaluation implementation and getting stakeholders to use findings.

2. ABSTRACT
Anxiety is an unpleasant state of inner turmoil, often
accompanied by nervousness, such as the feeling about an
imminent event. Anxiety is the most common mental illness in
the United States of America affecting 18% of the US
population (between the age group of 18 and 22).
STRESSFREE is an android based smartphone application
mainly developed to reduce and provide an efficient solution
in terms of practical measures for anxiety. The application
provides a user friendly environment with the help of highly
developed user interface design, the actual purpose of
application development is to give valuable suggestions to the
user problem like a close friend who cannot accompany the
fellow person in all parts of his/her lifetime.
Anxiety can develop from a complex set of risk factors,
including genetics, brain chemistry, personality and life
events. Unlike other applications, we have used the mode of a
questionnaire to measure a person’s anxiety level and provide
noteworthy suggestions (as a part of practical measure of
treatment) to reduce the level of anxiety and make a platform
to find a solution to the problem on their own. The ultimate
goal of the application is to make a reliable platform to reduce
the anxiety without the need for medications as a recent study
on anxiety has proven that practical measures can give more
efficient results on reducing the anxiety when compared to
other possible treatments.
INTRODUCTION
Anxiety is a feeling of fear, worry and inner turmoil usually
generalized and unfocused as an overreaction to a situation that
is subjectively seen as menacing. Anxiety is one of the most
common mental illness in the United States of America,
affecting 40 million adults (between the age group of 18 & 22)
that is 18% of the US population. Anxiety disorders are highly
treatable, yet only about one-third of those suffering receive the
medical treatment.
Anxiety disorders cost the US more than $42 billion a year,
almost one third of the country’s $148 billion total mental
health bill. Nearly one half of those diagnosed with depression
are also diagnosed with an anxiety disorder. People with an
anxiety disorder have a co-occurring physical illness, which can
make their symptoms worse and recovery more difficult. A
recent study on anxiety disorder has furnished some valuable
results that practical measures can produce better and efficient
solutions to reduce anxiety compared to other possible
treatments. The problem of anxiety also cultivates from
society’s materialism over the years, which has eroded the
personal relationship and families.
Depression and anxiety are prevalent problems in colleges
across the country. During the college days, students deal with
a unique amount of stress, they easily become susceptible to
depression and anxiety. These points made us to choose the
target users to be students and provide a reliable system to
support them in solving their problems of anxiety. The news
article on Depression among college students by Leta Shy
explains the supporting statements on how depression and
anxiety disorders are rising among college students because of
the high competitiveness, the correlation between
psychological illness and perfectionism and simultaneously
also provides additional information by noticing a significant
increase around thanksgiving when the hectic first few months
of moving in, choosing classes and meeting new people slow
down to reveal late assignments, heavier workloads and
homesickness.
OBJECTIVE
I. Project Goal
The main objective of the application development is to
provide a significant backdrop where end users (Students) can
interact with the smartphone application as if they are sharing
their private feelings with the closed ones. The purpose of the
application is to analyze and evaluate the level of anxiety so as
to give appropriate suggestions in terms of convincing words to
reduce the anxiety and also provide a long term solution for the
problem.
II. Rationale
The Following are the supporting points to the development of
our application and its features. These are the prioritized set of
symptoms that forms the main reason of anxiety in college
students.
• Pathological Perfectionism
• Panic Disorder
• Social Anxiety Disorder
• Separation Anxiety
• Phobias & Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD)
• Obsessive-Compulsion Disorder (OCD)
• Health Anxiety
• Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
• Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD)
Survey is defined as a technique of collecting information,
attitudes or opinions from a large number of people.
Psychometric tests are a type of questionnaire that contains
many closed questions which plays a significant role in
measuring mental characteristics. Questionnaires and
interviews are often able to study large samples of people fairly
easy and quick. They can examine a large number of variables
and can ask people to reveal behavior and feelings experienced
in real situations. We finalized on using the method of
questionnaire to measure due to the valid point that the self-
report method allow the participants to describe their own
3. experiences rather than inferring from the observed
participants.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy plays a significant role in
providing an efficient method of treatment for the depression
and anxiety disorders. In the modern materialistic world, there
are many barriers that prevent students to seek help from their
parents and other family members. Stigma, embarrassment, not
knowing the symptoms and the self-medication with drugs are
all the roadblocks on seeking help. And from the recent data on
survey provides the information that parents and other relatives
are not able to spend time with their children due to hectic work
schedule and growing problems with the economic status. Our
application will provide a reliable way to overcome all these
barriers and give a user-friendly platform to interact which can
produce a real time solution like the ones what they can get from
their parents.

responding to the questionnaire to measure the anxiety level and
view the appropriate suggestions checking that whether the
suggestions are convincing or not.
• FINDINGS
The users found the questionnaire to be reasonable
and were fascinated to view the results. They found the
suggestions to be pragmatic and convincing to reduce the
anxiety level.
c) TASK NAVIGATION AND USER CONTROLS
• TASK
The users were asked to navigate between the Sign Up
page and Mind-Breakers page. The users were also asked to
check the buttons whether they navigate properly and function
properly or not.
• FINDINGS
The users were able to sign in to the application. The
new users were able to sign up and register their response on
the Mind-Breakers to continue with the application. According
to the user information, the buttons are working properly and
we had valuable suggestions from the users to have a BACK for
each page.
d) CONSISTENCY & STANDARDS
• TASK
Users were asked to check the application consistency
by reviewing all the buttons and pages.

The users were able to use the application properly and
also found an appropriate solution as a part of the application
objective.
e) ERROR PREVENTION AND CORRECTION
• TASK
Users were asked to register the response on the
questionnaire to evaluate their anxiety level.
• FINDINGS
During the initial stage of application development,
we used YES/NO mode of answering where the users found
them to be confusing on the score calculations to view the
Anxiety level in terms of percentage value.
f) EFFICIENT TO USE
• TASK
The users were asked to comment on the efficiency of
the application.
• FINDINGS
The users found the application to be user friendly on
interacting with the application, they also found the application
to be efficient on seeing the solution at the end (they find the
evaluation method and suggestions to be pragmatic which in
turn also made them to reduce their anxiety).
6. g) SIMPLICITY AND APPEALING
• TASK
Users were asked to comment on the application
design.
• FINDINGS
We received positive comments from the user end that
the application is simple in design (not involving complex
operations to navigate through or to use the application so as to
fulfill the application goal). The users found the application
design to be appealing and interesting to use.
h) HELP SUPPORT
• TASK
The users were asked to review the user manual
whether they find it useful and the points are reasonable to
understand to use application on first hand.
• FINDINGS
The users found the user manual to be lengthier and
confusing which made them to not understand the complete
idea of the application and how to use.
FINAL DESIGN
FEATURES
• The application has a login page to sign in with their
unique username and password as a part of ensuring
the privacy of personal information about each user.
• The application also contains a sign up and mind-
breakers page to create a new account.
• We have a couple of scenarios in the category of
Academics in the application.
• The application consists of both generalized and
scenario based questionnaire to evaluate the anxiety
level.
• The application calculates the anxiety level in terms of
percentage value and provides an appropriate set of
suggestions.
Here, in the questionnaire section we have finalized with the set
of questions on the responses received from the user end with
the help of the interview forms as a part of satisfying user
requirements. We also changed the type of questionnaire from
yes/no to score rating from 0 to 5 to calculate the final score at
the end to provide the suggestions based on the total score of
anxiety level and the situation.
EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN
The evaluation of the application can be done by reviewing the
questionnaire on whether they are reasonable and make sense
of measuring the level of anxiety. The significant part of the
application lies in calculating the scores obtained from the
questionnaire. The system evaluation method can also consider
the technique that was used to furnish the suggestions based on
the anxiety level and situation, ensuring that the application is
producing real time data indicating the exact state of the user at
that time.
The application can be evaluated with the final results obtained
at the end. The application can be reviewed on the set of
questionnaire being used and the suggestions that have been
furnished as a part of the purpose of the application
development. Each and every feature of the application was
finalized after getting a final check from the user end to make
it more reliable and user friendly at the end. We conducted an
ample of survey interview on what is anxiety from the student
point of view, what are all the reasons behind their anxious,
what makes them get more anxious about, what they actually
want to do when they are in anxiety, what they expect, what
kind of solution they need to reduce their anxiety level and
finally is the application useful or not.
The ultimate goal of the application is to provide a reliable and
user beneficial application at the end, and we have successfully
developed the high fidelity prototype version of the application
and we look forward to make a number of research studies in
the field of affective computing and anxiety to make a real time
2.1 Evaluation form used to get the user requirement in
terms of Survey interview

solution to their problems.
DISCUSSION
We faced a couple of challenges on finalizing the questionnaire
to be used and the appropriate set of suggestions to be given at
the end. First, we made an ample of research studies on different
types of questionnaire available on each scenario, and how the
scores are being calculated to produce the final anxiety level in
terms of percentage units. Then we categorized the level of
anxiety into 4 broad sections and made a platform to furnish a
different set of scenario and score related suggestions. The most
challenging part of the application is to make a logical concept
on how to calculate the scores and provide the final result of the
suggestions which is touted to be application goal at the end.
Though we have completed the semester end project on
designing the high fidelity prototype version of the application,
we want to continue the research and develop the application
on a real time basis to make it available to the user end for the
user benefit to reduce the anxiety level. We are planning to
include additional features of having a media file along with the
suggestions to make the application more reliable and
beneficial 1n producing an effective solution at the end. We are
also thinking about the inclusion of sensors along with the
questionnaire to make the evaluation more accurate.
