The new Passion440 from Widex is their smallest and highest performing RIC hearing aid. It utilizes Dual ISP technology to provide both a listening focus and awareness in challenging environments. Key features include Zen sound programs, SmartSpeak speech messages, 15 channels of directional processing, TruSound compression, and an Audibility Extender to expand hearing range. - In the listening layer we have our TruSound compression system, including TruSound compressors, TruSound AOC and TruSound stabilisers.
- Another feature in the Listening layer is the Audibility Extender.A central issue for users with ski-slope hearing loss is the inability to hear various high-pitched sounds in the environment. The Audibility Extender gives the user the possibility to hear sounds that they haven’t heard in years.When the Audibility Extender is active, it searches out the most significant high frequency signal and moves it into the audible lower frequency region using true harmonic transposition.In contrast to traditional frequency transposition schemes, the Audibility Extender works to preserve a linear relationship between the transposed signal and the original sound. The result is audibility of high frequency sounds within the lower frequency region, and with no unnatural sound quality.Widex is the only major manufacturer that is providing true linear frequency transposition.
- In the Awareness layer we have the Zen Program and the SmartSpeak feature.The Zen program is based on fractal technology and aims to help in relaxation or when the user needs to concentrate. Widex offers five different Zen styles, which can be programmed in Compass. It may be challenging to become accustomed to at new hearing aid with many new features – both for first time and experienced users. A way to overcome the challenge is to have a hearing aid that communicates to the user. Passion440 with SmartSpeak uses actual recorded speech to communicate changes in status to the user. The messages are delivered with high sound quality to ensure that they are heard and understood. The actual name, of course, underlines the fact that you are getting the best of both worlds.The colours of the campaign are black, white and the bronze you can see in the logo. The orange you know from mind440 is also a link we wanted to keep. We have just adapted the colour to Passion440 and ended up with this delicate bronze, which we think goes very well with the film noir theme.
