This study evaluated the partial substitution of alfalfa with corn silage in dairy cattle rations in the Tadla region of Morocco. The study found that partially substituting alfalfa with corn silage increased milk production by 2.8-8.7 kg/cow/day depending on the ratio and cattle breed. Corn silage was shown to utilize irrigation water more efficiently than alfalfa, producing more dry matter, energy, and protein per cubic meter of water.
