Christopher Parkening is an American classical guitarist born in 1947 in Los Angeles. He started playing guitar at age 11 and became famous by age 19 after being introduced to his musical inspiration, Andres Segovia. Parkening studied at USC Thorton School of Music and is considered a preeminent virtuoso known for his Spanish and Latin style. Some of his most famous performances include concerts at the White House, Carnegie Hall, the Grammy Awards, the Tonight Show, and Good Morning America.
