1. The word accident gives us a feeling of fear and horror the moment we hear it.
The word accident is similar to the word loss. Nowadays accidents are taking
place everywhere on the roads due to careless driving, bad condition of roads
and heavy traffic. In the last week, I saw a fatal and horrible accident. A boy
was overtaking my car at more than the speed of 100 kmh. Somehow he
managed to overtake my car but he could not control his bike and dashed a
truck coming from the opposite direction. The boy fell and his head hit on the
concrete road. Within no time the boy was in the pool of blood. An ambulance
came there immediately and the boy was hospitalized but he could not survive.
Later I came to know that the boy was 18 years old only son of a farmer in
nearby village. His death and injured face still haunts my memory.

2. City life is different from village life in many respects. In cities, people can
have many good facilities of health, education and entertainment whereas in
villages people cannot have these facilities of better quality. In cities, people
have many job opportunities as industrialization is centred in cities whereas in
villages people have to depend on farming and traditional occupations. Life in
cities is very fast and hectic while life in villages is very calm and peaceful. In
cities, people have to face many problems such as pollution, crowds and heavy
traffic on the roads. In villages people can enjoy nature; they can have pure air
to breathe, pure water to drink and enough space to play. In cities, people
hardly have time to share their happiness and sorrows whereas in villages
people mix up with one another and share their happiness and sorrows. In short
life in cities is modern and life in villages is a bit traditional.
CITY LIFE VERSUS VILLAGE LIFE.

4. TELIVISION
Television is an electronic device which has got place in every house of the
world. People are crazy for it since its invention. In this modern world of
glamour and entertainment, television has become a must have thing of every
family. In this age of information television is a great source of information
and knowledge. There are many tools of entertainment but television being
audio-visual is most loved and used device. Television is a great source of fun
not only for children but for all age group people. We can watch movies,
serials, reality shows, songs and cartoons on television. News channels keep
us updated with the mappings in the world immediately after their occurrence.
Though television is a big source of entertainment and knowledge, it has some
bad effects on children and young generation. They have become addicted to
television and ignoring their study and playing outdoors games. They just sit
in front of idiot box most of the time of the day neglecting all important
things.
5. My first day in college was the most memorable day of my life. I can never
forget my first day. My first day in college was so special because some good
memories are connected to it. When I was in school, I used to imagine
college life by observing my sister and brother’s college life. Finally, the day
came for which I was so curious and excited. I still vividly remember that it
was the 15th of July. I got up early in the morning. I got dressed and went to
college by bus. When I entered the college campus a huge statue of King
Shivaji grabbed my attention. All the newcomers gathered in a big hall at 9
o'clock. The hall was full of students. All faces were blushing and excited.
Induction started at 10 o’clock. At first the principal and vice-principal gave
a speech and welcomed all in the college. Then some senior teachers told
us about some important rules and regulations. After the induction
program, I visited different departments, laboratories and library of the
college. As it was the first day, the teachers did not teach us but discussed
the subject they would teach us, gave their introduction and took ours too.
I also made some new friends on my first of college.
