This document examines Chinese consumers' intention to use imported soy-based dietary supplements based on the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB). The study analyzed three models - the standard TPB model and two alternative models that integrated Chinese dietary culture variables. A survey was conducted with 215 subjects in Shanghai, China measuring TPB variables (attitude, subjective norm, perceived behavioral control, intention) and Chinese dietary culture variables (soyfoods favorability, dining-out sociability). Regression analyses found all three models significantly predicted intention. Attitude, perceived behavioral control, and dining-out sociability positively influenced intention, while soyfoods favorability negatively moderated the relationship between attitude and intention.
