My presentation is about

 English as an International language
 How many types of English are in India?

 Problems of English language
 English in some Asian countries
How many English are there?
 British English (including Irish and
Scottish)
 American English
 Canadian English
 Australian – New Zealand English
 Indian – Pakistan English
 African English
 Asian English
 French English
English as an International language
 English is a global language
 English may not be most spoken Language in the
world, but it is the official language in large number
of countries
 The number of people that uses English language in
regular basis is 2 Billion!
 It is dominant business language
 Many of the top films, books and music are
published and produced in English.
 Most of the content produced on the internet (50%)
is in English
 The countries who have always been in Power have
English as their First and Official language.
Importance of English language
 Medium of Education
 Medium of Communication
 Importance of English Language in
international affairs
 Importance of English in internal matter
 Importance of English in Technological
and Scientific advancement
 Importance of English for higher studies
English in some Asian countries
 India
 Singapore
 Philippines
 Brunei
Darussalam
 Pakistan
 China
 Japan
 South Korea
 Russia
 Sri Lanka
India
 English is Second Language in India
 We have United Kingdom’s English In India
 Even it helps to communicate with different states of
people as even all Indians don’t speak country’s
national language Hindi but their own states mother
tongue
 Everything in India is now in English From the board on
any local shop in street to the bank or hospital related
papers
 Still the problem is not everyone of the nation can
speak or understand English
 Today Indians want their children to go to a school
where lessons are taught in English.
 But often the pupils leave speaking a language that
would not be recognized in London or New York.
 Could this Hinglish be the language of India's future?
Problem with English in India
 Imagine living in a nation where you, a member of majority are
unable to read the label of medicine you must give your child,
the menu at a local restaurant or even the warning signed of the
road; a place where you are unable to comprehend the
government document officiating your driver’s license, tax filing
or marriage.
 Upper and middle classes send their children to English private
schools while the vast poor send theirs to the government
schools of their mother tongue. One need not mention that
universities and even government jobs require fluency in
English, as mandated by the ruling elite. Therefore, a person’s
socioeconomic status in Indian society is approximately in line
with his or her fluency in the language. In other words: a new
caste system.
 it is generally accepted that somewhere in the range of 30% are
able to speak English—though only a third have some semblance
of reading and writing aptitude. Still, it is unadorned
disenfranchisement and an embarrassing plight for the other 70-
80% of Indians
South Korea
 South Korea, china and Japan may look really developed
countries and way more ahead in technology but the thing is
English language’s development is really poor there
 we can this that just like India English is used by some of the
people and students do study it as their second language but
still many are actually away when it comes to using
 Even India is different from them as they use their mother
tongue every where
 Hospital, on medicines, bank papers, other documents, and even
they use their language in mobile phone not like Indians
 The shocking thing about south Korea is even the south Korean
celebrities don’t really know English language
 Same with china and japan
 And even the other countries of Asia probably have the same
thing about English
 Only India is ahead and using English language everywhere
