The term X actually originated as early as 1773 and referred to a variety
of coffee. In the late 1700’s, one variety of coffee beans became
extremely popular in Europe, and these are still among the best type of
beans that nature has to offer: Xs. Now the term is used to refer to a type
of coffee preparation popular all over the world.
The X coffee beans were named for the port of X in Yemen, where the
beans were shipped from. It was the Ottoman Turks, who began
occupying Yemen in 1536, who originally began exporting the beans
through the port of X, which involved a complicated trade route to Suez
and then by camel to Alexandria, and then onward by French or
Venetian merchants. These beans are now commonly called Y beans.

The Truth of Transubstantion involves the method by which the communion
wafer received during a Catholic service would be transformed into the flesh
of Christ. The priest would hold the wafer and say “Hoc est corpus meum” (this

Among other differences, Protestants did not subscribe to this view, and only
considered this practice to be a symbolism. They subsequently ridiculed the
Catholic church for continuing to believe so, to the extent that the Protestant
King James I had a clown in his court who would prefix his magical tricks with
the incantation “_____ _____”, in apparent mockery of the practice. The phrase

The city officials and business leaders were eagerly expecting a huge
government project 30 miles southeast of X to go through. Finally in
1928, the passed the Boulder Canyon Act, and construction began. In
1933, the project was inaugurated, and received its eventual name Y in
1947. X prospered as a result of Y, with more funding and residents, and
currently is a bustling metropolis with over 2 million residents.

Hours after Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, President Franklin D. Roosevelt was to give
his speech to Congress the next day, and although the trip from the White House to Capitol Hill was
short, agents weren’t sure how to transport him safely.
The White House did already have a specially built limousine for the president that he regularly used,
but it wasn’t bulletproof, and the Secret Service realized this could be a major problem now that the
country was at war. US government rules at the time restricted the purchase of any vehicle that cost
more than $750. It was pretty obvious that they weren’t going to get an armored car that cheap, and
certainly not in less than a day. The federal government did already have in its possession a car that
just might fit the bill, which had been sitting in a Treasury Department parking lot ever since it had
been seized years earlier.
This car was a sight to behold. It had been painted black and green so as to look identical to Chicago’s
police cars at the time. It also had a specially installed siren and flashing lights hidden behind the
grille, along with a police scanner radio. To top it off, the 1928 Cadillac 341A Town Sedan had 3,000
pounds of armor and inch-thick bulletproof windows.
FDR finally used this car, and it performed so well that he kept using it until his old car was fitted
with identical features.
Why was this car lying in the Treasury Department?/Who was this car seized from?

The New Mutants is an upcoming superhero-horror film based on the
Marvel Comics team of the same name.
It deals with a group of young children who are held within a secret
facility against their will, taught how to suppress their mutant powers,
and restricted from living their normal lives.
The first trailer of the film featured a famous song from 1979, which
deals with similar themes. An eerie version of the song served as the
background music for the trailer, and the font used for the movie name
is also a nod to the song and its creators.

From early 1980s until the early 1990s, American Express was known for
cutting its interchange fee (also known as a "discount rate") to merchants and
restaurants if they accepted only American Express and no other credit or
charge cards. This prompted competitors such as VISA and Mastercard to cry
foul for a while as the tactics "locked" restaurants into American Express.
Capitalizing on this elitist image, American Express frequently mentioned
such exclusive partnerships in its advertising.
A group of restaurants in Boston stopped accepting American Express, while
accepting and encouraging the use of Visa and Mastercard, including some
that were exclusive to American Express. The rationale was due to far lower
fees as compared to American Express' fees at the time (which were about 4%
for each transaction versus around 1.2% at the time for Visa and Mastercard).

One of the longest running gags in football is X struggling with his Y.
"I was conscious of that! They are too long and sometimes the Y didn’t
work. I struggled a lot with that."
“But, in the end, because people were showing it, I was conscious that I
was under scrutiny when doing it!” said X once.
This problem was solved when Puma took over as his kit manager and
designed a special product to eliminate this very problem.

The trend of Xs as a fashion accessory really started during the 1920s, and continued
until the 1960s. During that period, actors such as Cary Grant, Fred Astaire and Gary
Cooper wore them regularly. The X subsequently fell into disuse until the late 2000s
when it made a comeback thanks in part to popular television shows such as Mad Men.
As a visible fashion item there are a wide variety of ways to wear an X, ranging from
the austere to the flamboyant:
o The Presidential, perhaps the simplest
o The Winged Puff
o The Cagney
o The Astaire
o The Diagonal Shell

Joaquin Murrieta Carrillo, also known as the X of the West or the X of El Dorado, was
a Sonoran forty-niner, a vaquero and a gold miner who became a
famous outlaw in California during the California Gold Rush of the 1850s.
The popular legend of Joaquin Murrieta is that of a peace-loving man driven to seek
revenge when he and his brother were falsely accused of stealing a mule. His brother
was hanged, his young wife gang raped and Joaquin horsewhipped. Swearing
revenge, Joaquin hunted down all who had violated his sweetheart. He embarked on a
short but violent career that brought death to his Anglo tormentors. The state of
California then offered a reward of up to $5,000 for Joaquin "dead or alive."
In 1919, Johnston McCulley supposedly received his inspiration for his fictional
character Don Diego de la Vega—better known as Y—from a 1854 book on Murrieta.
X is a legendary character from English folklore, while Y is a famous fictional book and
movie character.

Over 6 million Jews were killed by the Nazis during the Holocaust, and
Jewish ghettos were built in every German occupied city in Europe.
The Nazis destroyed the ghettos after the Jews residing in them had
been either killed or transported to concentration camps.
Surprisingly, Hitler ordered his men to preserve the Jewish Quarter of
Prague. He wanted to create something there, a prospect of amusement
for him and the Nazis, but something despicable to everyone else
around the world. Hence the Prague ghetto was never harmed in any
manner and remains intact till date.
What did Hitler intend to do with the Prague ghetto?

During the Middle Ages, religion played a big role in the governance
and administration of the empires and the civilised regions of the world.
In the second half of the 1400s, two seismic political events took place in
Europe, which kept a check on the religious balance. Christianity and
Islam were at loggerheads, and victory in both these events for either,
would have changed the course of history, but fortunately that did not
happen, and a balance was maintained.
One of the two events took place in 1453 at one extreme end of Europe,
while the other took place in 1492 at the other end of Europe.
What were these two events?

Perfume oils are often diluted with a solvent, though this is not always the case. By far
the most common solvent for perfume oil dilution is ethanol or a mixture of ethanol
and water.
Traditionally these products were named after a principal ingredient, like geranium
water, lavender water, lilac water.
In modern perfumery, these terms are used more generically based on the
concentration of fragrance, and hence we have:
o Perfume extract (extrait): 15-40% aromatic compounds
o Eau de parfum (EdP): 10-20% aromatic compounds
o X: 5-15% aromatic compounds
o Y: Citrus type perfume with about 2-6% perfume concentrate aromatic compounds
o Splash and Aftershave: 1-3% aromatic compounds

This 19th century Dutch painter, X, was known to have strong religious
beliefs, and his works were filled with religious references and Easter
eggs.
One of his most famous paintings might look like a normal depiction of
an urban night scene, but on close examination, one can see hints of a
Biblical scene. There are clearly 12 people dining, around one man with
long hair. One person is seen to be departing into the shadows. Experts
believe it to be X’s version of The Last Supper, depicting Jesus, Judas and
the 12 apostles.
