The 20th Annual Parenting Awareness Michigan Conferences will be held on November 14, 2012 at the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center in East Lansing. The keynote speaker will be Jane Aldrich, an inspirational speaker and happiness life coach. Attendees will learn about parenting issues, programs, and resources through workshops and have the opportunity to connect with other parenting advocates. The conference aims to provide practical and inspirational ideas for Parenting Awareness Month in 2013.

Because of their unique leadership position in the community, educators can be the link to making meaningful connections with children, their families and the community.

At Community Partnership School (CPS) in North Philadelphia, creating a culture of collaboration between home and school has become paramount in our ongoing work of fulfilling the school's mission. After reading The Essential Conversation by Sarah Lawrence-Lightfoot, the school redoubled its efforts at building healthy home-school partnerships, even tackling head-on the politeness and defensiveness that often operate just beneath the surface of this interaction.
