PAKISTAN POLITICS Pakistan is a democratic parliamentary federal republic. The President is the Head of state and the Commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces and is elected by an electoral college. The prime minister is usually the leader of the largest party in the National Assembly. The Pakistani military has played an influential role in mainstream politics throughout Pakistan's history
PAKISTAN RELIGION Pakistan is the second-most populous Muslim-majority country and also has the second-largest Shi'a population in the world. There are also several Sufi and Quraniyoon communities. Smaller ethnic groups, such as Kashmiris, Hindkowans, Kalash, Burusho, Brahui, Khowar, Shina,and Turwalis are mainly found in the parts of the country.
PAKISTAN GEOGRAPHY Pakistan is divided into three major geographic areas: the northern highlands; the Indus River plain; and the Balochistan Plateau. Islamabad is the capital and is one of the main city. Pakistan's climate varies from tropical to temperate, characterized by a monsoon season with adequate rainfall and a dry season with lesser rainfall.
PAKISTAN ECONOMY Pakistan has a semi-industrialized economy. The structure of the Pakistani economy has changed from a mainly agricultural base to a strong service base. Foreign investments have been made in several areas including telecommunications, real estate and energy. Other important industries include apparel and textiles, food processing, chemicals manufacture, and the iron and steel industries.
