At the start of the game, there will be a short cutscene of the main character CHAD skateboarding out of his university and accidentally rolling down a hill. Players can unlock additional downloadable content like new maps and customizable accessories for CHAD, with some of the most detailed being Christmas and Easter themes. CHAD is influenced by Canabalt and 1980s skate culture, using retro 2D graphics to appeal to fans of vintage games.

At the start of the game, after pressing start there will be a short CG cutscene with CHAD
bursting out from behind Trojans Cityʼs University doors on his skateboard. This will be
followed by a short scene of CHAD accidentally rolling down a hill and on to the street.
This will show where CHAD has come from and tells the player more about his story. The
cutscenes will be shown with short flash animations.
Players will be able to unlock new DLCs, new maps and also fully customizable
accessories for their CHAD, including clothing, skateboards and holiday themed skins.
DLC themes are mainly seasonal and the most prominent and most detailed will be the
Christmas and Easter DLCs where Chad Players can unlock new characters too, and can
also buy experience points and exclusive unlocks with real money.
CHADs competition will mostly be endless runner games of the same style/genre. CHAD
is a mix between Canabalt and the 80s skate scene. The 2D design, although itʼs
perspective can be easily compared to that of rhythm games such as Flappy Bird, it is a
credit to the 8 bit world of the past and its good looking art design and for that reason will
attract a once niche but now growing market of retro junkies and so called “hipsters” or
“nerds” that show a true appreciation for the simple, independent, retro persuasion of
gaming.
