1. Owen Sherwood
Owen Sherwood was born in Troy, NY and received his Bachelor’s Degree in
Illustration from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn. He has been a working Illustrator and
Artist since 2001 and has shown his work in New York, San Francisco, Los
Angeles, York and London. His work has been featured in many newspapers and
magazines such as Reader's Digest, Chicago Magazine, The Guardian, and The
Observer. He currently lives in Cambridge, with his family and pet dog.
Owen Sherwood does all of his publishing work through photoshop, and he uses a
graphics tablet to create the illustrations. He claims that most of his inspiration
comes from everyday objects, and even food, he often adds human qualities to his
illustrations.
He has also stated that his daughter is also one of his main inspirations, and his
everyday surroundings. He uses a lot of tone colours for these drawings. (Dark and
light blue & green.)
2. For his work on childrens' books, he mainly does pencil and water drawings, with
the occasional line drawing in photoshop, for inspiration for these covers, he uses a
brief character description or storyline and base his drawings around that.
