1. Introduzione
L’India è fra le maggiori economie del mondo, la quarta secondo la Banca
Mondiale anche se con un reddito pro-capito molto basso (3,100 u$s).
Possiede un mercato interno di 1,1 miliardi di abitanti. D'altra parte, l’india è
considerata referente culturale di tutta l’Asia, perciò le possibilità di
penetrazione in quei mercati sono molto alte.
L’esportazione del India è ancora basata sulla produzione di commodities,
avendo quindi un forte potenziale d’industrializzazione.
Il settore della lavorazione del cuoio e della pelle in India riveste un’importanza
fondamentale per l’intera economia del paese e soprattutto per la regione di
Tamil Nadu, la quale sarà l’oggetto di questa ricerca.
Il presente dossier ha come obbiettivo quello di avviare un progetto
d’avvicinamento per attivare diversi tipi di collaborazione con aziende del
settore calzaturiero in India.
2. L’India principali indicatori economici
L’india è la quarta economia nel mondo con un prodotto interno lordo nel 2008
di 3.745 miliardi di dollari. Si trova nel undicesimo posto in termini di capacità
industriale ed è al terso posto mondiale in quantità di personale tecnico e
scientifico. Dal 1991 che ha avviato un processo di apertura a livello politico ed
economico, abbassando le barriere tariffarie e liberalizzando alle aziende estere
la economia, incentivando gli investimenti esteri. Come rischio paese si
classifica in classe A con 39 punti in confronto a Cina 41 secondo la SACE.
L’India tutela la proprietà intellettuale rispettando tutti gli accordi
internazionali.
Il mercato indiano dei prodotti di consumo è ben più limitato di quanto
l’anagrafe lasci supporre, anche se verosimilmente intorno ai cento milioni di
consumatori in possesso di un potere d’acquisto comparabile a quello europeo.
I dazi su una lunga lista di prodotti restano alti. Tra questi vanno segnalate le
scarpe con tariffe tra il 150 e il 300%.

6. Contesto e motivazione della iniziativa
Potremo cosi riassumere i principali vantaggi di questo paese:
• Una delle più grandi economie al mondo
• Alto Potenziale di crescita del consumo interno
• Incentivi agli investimenti esteri
• Acceso ai mercati asiatici - localizzazione strategica
• Forza lavora qualificata e competitiva
• Risorse naturali
• Infrastruttura
• Protezione delle proprietà intellettuale (marchio – brevetti)
• Assenza dazi alla importazione di beni strumentali (attrezzature) e materia
prima come ad esempio pellami.
• Non ci sono dazi sulla esportazione di scarpe e borse.
L’ipotesi concreta di questo progetto è quella di attivare dei contatti con
aziende del settore calzaturiero indiano per valutare la loro capacità in termini
qualitativi. L’obiettivo principale sarà quello di individuare delle aziende in
grado di realizzare il tomaio finito. L’area selezionata è quella di Chennai e
dintorni dove si trova la più alta concentrazione di aziende contoterzisti di tutto
lo stato di Tamil Nadu.
Il punto di partenza del progetto è quello d’attivare contatti frequentando la
fiera di Chennai del prossimo 31 gennaio ’06.
