1. Outside Recording
There is no ceiling or
roof about the narrow
space which allows the
sound to travel further.
Another set of brick walls which the
sound can reflect off as it is a hard
surfaces. Also the walls are narrow
and close together which can create
a better refection impact which can
mean the sound could possibly be
louder.
The two walls which are narrow and are rather close together help the sound seem louder, however the fact
there is nothing above the two walls disables the sound from sounding loud as it reflects off the walls and then
spreads out into open space. All the hard objects which allows the sound to reflect off them, but as there is no
ceiling or roof which disables the sound from travelling, the sound will become quieter as it can travel more.
Also with it being outside and it being rather windy, this will affect the sound recording to make it even
quieter. The wind itself in the recording effects the sound as the microphone also picks the noise up, this will
drown out the sound of the recording and make it quieter.
There is a huge different between the D Corridor & Canteen recording, this is that with there being less objects
for the sound to reflect off or be absorbed by which will have an impact on the recording. With it being outside
in the open, there is no boxed in area which would help the sound more loud so there’s less to travel yet more
objects to reflect off. Also the wind from outside is a negative as it drowns out the recording we did, while
inside we didn’t have problems like that, only a few people talking or doors opening
