Orthographic projections are a method of depicting the shape of an object in two-dimensional drawings by displaying it in planes that are perpendicular to the three coordinate axes. These projections show the object as if viewed directly down one of the axes, ignoring any distortion from the viewing angle. There are three standard orthographic projections called top view, front view, and side view that each show the object as seen directly along one of the primary axes.
