1. What type of map is it? 1:25 000 or 1:50 000, why is this so. [2]
2. Kimmeridge Bay is bound by two features which make it a Bay, what
are these called, and what are their local names? - One is obscured,
guess carefully. [3]
3. How wide is Kimmeridge Bay and what is its orientation? [2]
4. Compare and contrast the wave cut platforms of Kimmeridge Bay
with Hen Cliff. [4]- use the key below.
5. The cliff consists of oil bearing Shales and gently dipping limestone
beds. What evidence is there of the shales – give a grid reference [3]
6. What does ‘gently dipping’ mean? [2]
7. Clavell tower was dismantled and moved 200m inland, why do you
think this was necessary? [2]
8. Why do you think that it is necessary to visit this area at low tide?
