Oracle MAA (Maximum Availability Architecture) 18c - An OverviewMarkus Michalewicz
Providing the highest levels of availability is the main goal of Oracle’s Maximum Availability Architecture (MAA), which has been available for more than a decade. This session looks at Oracle MAA from a slightly different angle, as MAA should really be considered by the Oracle DBA as well as by developers and even by non-Oracle customers. First presented in Sangam18.
"Changing Role of the DBA" Skills to Have, to Obtain & to Nurture - Updated 2...Markus Michalewicz
The ever-changing IT industry requires DBA's to keep their skills up-to-date. This presentation discusses skills that any DBA should have, but also those that any DBA should obtain and nurture regardless of which new technology is entering the (Gartner) hype cycle. The first ever version of this deck was presented during Sangam18 under the title "(Oracle) DBA Skills to Have, to Obtain and to Nurture" and used in other occasions during 2019. It was subsequently enhanced to a more generic 2019 version, which included an outlook for 2020! This edition of the presentation maintains the generic character, but has been updated to reflect unprecedented changes in 2020 and to cover the latest Oracle technology, to provide a 3-year comparison as well as trends analysis.

Systems on the Edge—Your Stepping Stones into Oracle Public Cloud and the Paa...Lucas Jellema
Systems on the edge of an enterprise have special challenges regarding availability, scalability, security, and external interactions with systems or people.
This applies to external portals, B2B interactions, workflows that involve external actors, mobile APIs, and integrations with software-as-a-service (SaaS) instances. These systems are candidates to move to a public cloud and handle these requirements on the platform-as-a-service (PaaS) platform.
This session discusses Oracle PaaS cloud services, their mutual interaction, and how they can be leveraged to move these systems into the cloud: Oracle Java Cloud Service, Oracle Integration Cloud Service, Oracle Process Cloud Service, Oracle Mobile Cloud Service, Oracle SOA Suite Cloud Service, and Oracle Messaging Cloud Service.

AMIS 25: Moving Integration to the CloudMatt Wright
The growth of cloud has fueled the need to integrate Cloud applications with each other and with applications that reside on premise.
Traditional integration platforms are evolving into offerings called integration platform as a service (iPaaS) primarily targeted at cloud 2 cloud integrations. During the transition to cloud, organizations will be required to adopt a hybrid approach to their integration platform, but as more on-premise applications move to the cloud, users should plan for a re balancing of the center of gravity of their integration platform.
This session is designed to educate the audience about what it means to move integration to the cloud, and use customer case studies to provide insight into how organizations are doing this today, including:
1. Understand why you would move integrations to the cloud and which integrations are prime candidates for iPaaS
2. Understand some of the common implementation challenges and what you can do now to simplify future cloud migrations
3. Understand some of the critical deployment and operational monitoring considerations in moving integrations to the cloud
4. Provides a six step roadmap for moving integration to the cloud

Software Defined IT @ Evento SOIEL Roma 6 Aprile 2017Riccardo Romani
Oracle Cloud Platform Update, showing Cloud in Action from an Oracle IAAS, PAAS Perspective, including Mobile and Application Development Perspectives.

Agencies are being driven, by stricter regulations and a desire to show greater levels of transparency, to implement records management solutions to help achieve information governance and compliance initiatives. But, due to the low levels of user adoption, these often fail to deliver on expectations. As with many agencies, this was the case with the Department of Defense (DoD) Joint Staff. The DoD's Joint Staff quickly realized they needed to evolve for a new breed of software based compliance solutions. This session will provide insight into RM best practices within the DoD and examine how an Open Source solution provided a 40% cost savings from their previous solution.

Driving DevOps for Oracle with the orawls Puppet ModulesSimon Haslam
Administrators these days have a rich choice of tools for automating the provisioning of their Oracle platforms - and one popular choice is Puppet. However the tool only provides a framework for scripting and changing the state of a server - on top of this you need a run-time configuration that uses the framework to install specific products, such as the Oracle software and domain configuration. This is where Edwin Biemond's "orawls" modules come in.
This presentation will discuss what the orawls modules do out of the box, how to use them and the configuration layer you need to create on top to tailor the installation to your own topology. It will allow you to use this open source software to build your own FMW environments fully automatically.
First presented by Simon Haslam (eProseed) and Arturo Viveros (SYSCO) at OUG Norway conference in March 2017.
GDG Cloud Southlake #33: Boule & Rebala: Effective AppSec in SDLC using Deplo...James Anderson
Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. He is known for his dynamic presentations in CI/CD and application security integrated in software delivery lifecycle.

Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.
