Spring is a Java application framework that provides comprehensive infrastructure support for developing Java applications. It includes modules for core functions, data access, MVC web apps, and other aspects like AOP. The core provides dependency injection and IoC. The DAO module abstracts JDBC coding. The ORM module integrates ORMs. The MVC module provides a MVC structure for webapps. AOP allows separating cross-cutting concerns. Using Spring promotes loose coupling, separation of concerns, and testability. It also supports integration with popular technologies and allows flexible usage of individual modules.

Investigate Length Effects of Concrete Beams Through the use of Non-Destructi...George Dance BEng (Hons)
This document summarizes an investigation into the effects of length on concrete beams using non-destructive testing methods. Three concrete beams of different lengths were tested under three-point loading using Digital Image Correlation (DIC) to capture displacement and strain. The results found that the maximum strain a beam can withstand increases as the beam length decreases. Additionally, DIC proved effective at non-destructively monitoring the beams during testing. Further analysis of the DIC and strength testing device data provided insights into relationships between span length and strain. Limitations and opportunities for future research were also discussed.
The document compares a preliminary task film to an opening sequence film created by the author. The opening sequence featured more planning, a font suited to the film's subject of Audrey Hepburn, and subtly placed titles. Camera techniques like match on action and shot reverse were used in the preliminary task to follow specifications but were less prominent in the opening sequence. Editing software also differed between the two projects, allowing for a more polished opening sequence edited in Final Cut Pro compared to Adobe Premiere for the preliminary task.
When white light passes through a prism, it refracts and separates into the visible color spectrum of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. This document discusses the refraction of light through prisms and how rainbows are formed by the reflection and refraction of sunlight within water droplets in the sky. It aims to correct the misconception that rainbows are produced by only one droplet and provides links to videos explaining how to make rainbows and why the observer must be positioned with the light source behind them.

HCL Notes und Domino Lizenzkostenreduzierung in der Welt von DLAUpanagenda
Webinar Recording: https://www.panagenda.com/webinars/hcl-notes-und-domino-lizenzkostenreduzierung-in-der-welt-von-dlau/
Observability Concepts EVERY Developer Should Know -- DeveloperWeek Europe.pdfPaige Cruz
Monitoring and observability aren’t traditionally found in software curriculums and many of us cobble this knowledge together from whatever vendor or ecosystem we were first introduced to and whatever is a part of your current company’s observability stack.
While the dev and ops silo continues to crumble….many organizations still relegate monitoring & observability as the purview of ops, infra and SRE teams. This is a mistake - achieving a highly observable system requires collaboration up and down the stack.
I, a former op, would like to extend an invitation to all application developers to join the observability party will share these foundational concepts to build on:

Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software FuzzingAftab Hussain
Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process.
In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds.
