OpenGov proposes new principles for open government based on open data. The principles include making all public data available and accessible to the widest audience for any purpose, in a timely, machine-readable format without discrimination or fees. Open data must also be in a non-proprietary, license-free format and collected at the raw level. The OpenGov effort provides wiki and discussion resources for learning about and joining open government initiatives.
