The OpenAIRE Guidelines provide recommendations for encoding bibliographic metadata to repository managers and encourage the adoption of established practices like Dublin Core for literature repositories, DataCite Schema for data repositories, and CERIF-XML for CRIS systems. OpenAIRE collects open access research outputs, their relation to funding information, and metadata on research datasets to build a graph of information on open access and funded research through metadata normalization, linking publications to projects and datasets, and knowledge extraction services. The guidelines continue to be developed to establish an open infrastructure for scholarly communication.
