CFP Topics ● CFP should be about openSUSE or other open source project ● It can be technical aspect or non-technical aspect, like: marketing, communities, quality assurance, conference, etc ● Usually oSAS CFP subject follow the openSUSE Conference in the same year (not mandatory) ● It will be change from time to time
- 4. CFP Topics ● Example of technical subject: – openSUSE (including Leap, Tumbleweed, Open Build Services, OpenQA, YaST) – openSUSE Kubic, Cloud, Virtualization, Container, and Container Orchestration – Embedded and IoT – Linux kernel and file system
- 5. CFP Topics ● Example of non-technical subject: – Explanations of FLOSS technologies – Development, Quality Assurance, Translation – Tips & Tricks, Experience stories (success or fail), Best practice – Marketing and community management – Education

How to submit CFP ● Don’t miss the announcement on news.opensuse.org :-) ● Login to openSUSE event management (OSEM) https://events.opensuse.org, create your account if you don’t have one ● Your proposal must be written in English and 150–500 words long with an appropriate title. ● You may do your speech in the local language if you write “Speech in local language” to the Requirements field. Presentation in English is recommended, and your slides must be in English.

How to submit CFP ● Please run spell and grammar checkers for your proposal before submission. – https://extensions.libreoffice.org/extensions/languagetool – https://www.grammarly.com/ ● Your biography on your profile page is also a reviewed document. Please do not forget to write your background. ● You must obey openSUSE Conference code of conduct: – https://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Conference_code_of_conduct

Tips ● Write your proposal so that it is related to one or more topics – For example, if your talk is on security or desktop, it is better that it contains how to install these applications and/or demo on openSUSE. ● Please clarify what the participants will learn from your talk. – The introduction of main technology or software in your talk – The main topic of your talk ● For workshop: – Write how to use your time and what you need. – Write a simple timetable on your proposal – Ask necessary equipment (laptops, internet access) to the Requirement field
- 10. CFP Evaluation ● CFP will be evaluated by a panel consist of openSUSE.Asia Comittee ● Some considerant: relation to openSUSE development and usage, new technology, impact to the community, local, etc ● Evaluation around 2 weeks after the submission period ended
