RVASec 2017- Bringing Law and Order to CICDTroy Marshall
Credit to Franklin Mosley for much of the content presented. This presentation is based on our work on the DevSecOps pipeline at Ellucian.
In the movie, RoboCop is given three primary directives: "Serve the public trust, Protect the innocent, and Uphold the law". We built our own RoboCop in order to bring law and order to our CICD pipeline. DevOps practices are all about enabling fast and frequent delivery of new software. In order to keep pace in a DevOps culture, application security must be reliably integrated into the CICD pipeline.
In this talk, I will show how our small AppSec team combined automated tools along with human oversight in order to achieve our directives at scale, while winning the hearts and minds of our development teams.
More and more, it seems that companies default to having a Facebook and Twitter account and then make the choice for a third among Google+, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and Instagram. For those who use Instagram in their personal lives, adding Instagram to the business mix is becoming an easier and easier decision.
So the next question becomes: How do you thrive with Instagram for business?

This slide is prepared as a course work for E-Business Management undergraduate course at Yıldız Technical University, Industrial Engineering department.
When we presented this subject we talked about relation between business and open source. For instance, some corporations has changed their models being from product provider to service provider. So this means a change in financial approaches.
"Open source movement is strongly supported from open source software users and developers, according to their groups' agendas and discourses."
Alfresco: The Story of How Open Source Disrupted the ECM MarketJeff Potts
The early 90's saw the rise of powerful, inexpensive team collaboration software on one hand and huge document management systems on the other. Open source and cloud have brought us full circle. Today's businesses can implement extremely powerful productivity enhancing solutions quickly and easily. Alfresco capitalized on this trend. It used open source to get to the market quickly. It delivered functionality on par with legacy ECM as open source. Today, however, it is not just an open source alternative to things like Documentum and SharePoint, it is a visionary in the ECM market. This presentation tells that story, putting into context the things happening in ECM, collaboration, open source, and cloud from the 1990's to present day.

The OpenInfra Projects Overview slide deck from the same-titled presentation given by Ildiko Vancsa on March 29, 2024. It offers an in-depth exploration into the dynamic world of open infrastructure projects. As a seasoned expert and the Director of Community at the OpenInfra Foundation, Ildiko provides unique insights into the development, impact, and future directions of critical projects such as StarlingX, Kata Containers, and other edge computing initiatives.
This lecture looks at Open Source products as the shape of things to come. Open Source is completely changing the software industry and the same models are starting to be applied to hardware and creative works.
The presentation contains some basic history of foss and it discuses cathedral vs bazaar model.
At last it discuses some current foss developments in india. Feel free to download and share and modify to make it more useful for everyone.

Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software FuzzingAftab Hussain
Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process.
In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds.
