This document outlines the curriculum for an English 9 class with Ms. Garvoille over 4 quarters. Students will write daily, learn word roots and grammar, and study various genres including creative nonfiction, fiction, novels, poetry, and research writing. In quarter 1 students will study creative nonfiction and memoir. Quarter 2 focuses on nonfiction, fiction writing, and The Outsiders. Quarter 3 covers satire and a student chosen novel. Quarter 4 includes poetry, Romeo and Juliet, art critiques, and The Odyssey.
