The Onset Q40i is an ultra-high resolution flatbed printer capable of delivering high production speeds up to 305 m2/hr. It has a higher 9 picolitre drop size compared to typical 27 picolitre printers, resulting in up to 1200 dpi resolution for crisp images and fine text. The 15-zone vacuum table and automated functions reduce setup times and increase productivity. Sophisticated detectors help protect the substrate and printheads for improved reliability.

1. High Resolution - The Onset Q40i has been developed to address the growing market for an ultra-high-quality flatbed printer
capable of delivering high production speeds. It delivers a 9 picolitre drop size, compared to the 27 picolitre drop size used on the
Onset S40i. This results in up to 1200 dpi apparent resolution which produces ultra-crisp images, fine lines, sharp text and smooth
tonal graduations with output quality close to offset litho. Onset Q40i prints up to 305 m2
/hr using a satin bi-directional mode,
equating to 61 full-bed sheets per hour.
Fast Setup Times - The 15-zone vacuum table reduces bed masking requirements, which shortens setup times and increases overall
output.
Productivity - Innovative UV sensors continually monitor the machine condition and automatically inform the operator when
cleaning is required. The frequency of cleaning depends on the type and volume of work, so unnecessary maintenance is avoided
and productivity is increased.
Reliability - Sophisticated mechanical substrate height detectors deliver improved accuracy and reliability to help protect both the
substrate and the printheads.
Image Quality - The Onset Q40i has a 6-colour configuration with light colours for improved tones and graduations.
Ease of Use - The addition of a ‘machine setup files’ function allows a huge number of variables to be captured and reloaded again
and again, enabling machine operators to change quickly between substrates.
