This document discusses the importance of capturing primary human cells directly from tissue. It notes that there is only one opportunity to obtain original primary anchorage-dependent human cells when they are first dissociated from living tissue. These cells must immediately attach to a surface to survive, as suspended cells will die. Capturing these original primary cells ex-vivo provides access to their original intact and uncorrupted in-vivo phenotype. There is an unmet need for a method to capture and sustain these original primary human cells without corruption at high viability for as long as possible.
