The document discusses various components of a billing solution including:
- Core packages that provide customer management, prepaid solutions, AAA, and provisioning capabilities.
- A MobeeVoice application server that supports prepaid calling card services through an internal or external IVR.
- A balance manager and real-time server for prepaid authentication, authorization, and accounting.
- Business processes for order management, trouble tickets, debt collection, and payment arrangements.
- Partner management features for compensating agents for new customer accounts.
OneBill as a SaaS mobile billing application is maintained and updated more frequently than traditional software, in many cases on a weekly or monthly basis. This is enabled by several factors:
The application is hosted centrally with global fail-safe features. New releases can be put in place without requiring customers to physically install new software.
The OneBill application only has a single configuration, making development testing faster.
The application vendor has access to all customer data, expediting design and regression testing.

Public vs private vs hybrid cloud what is best for your business-Everdata Technologies
What are the benefits and disadvantages to each solution? Why might a business choose public over private cloud, or hybrid over public or private? Is there a “best” cloud solution?
Here in this presentation, we’ll take a look at these questions in an attempt to help organizations that are still in the process of choosing the best solution for their business.

We now live in a world with data at its heart. The amount of data being produced every day is growing exponentially and a large amount of this data is in the form of events. Whether it be updates from sensors, clicks on a website or even tweets, applications are bombarded with a never-ending stream of new events. So, how can we architect our applications to be more reactive and resilient to these fluctuating loads and better manage our thirst for data? In this session explore how Kafka and Reactive application architecture can be combined in applications to better handle our modern data needs.

As Operational Technologies (OT) like embedded devices, control and monitoring systems are increasingly integrated with Information Technology (IT) systems running in the back office, interaction patterns between systems are becoming more complex and diverse. Publish-Subscribe is the most commonly used messaging pattern for OT systems. It provides the real-time information access, scalability, and loose coupling required for integration of these types of systems. IT and OT integration, however, commonly requires messaging patterns that provide stronger end-to-end properties, such as Guaranteed Delivery, Request-Reply, and (load-balancing) Queues. RTI is greatly enhancing its infrastructure software with new messaging patterns that combine the performance, scalability, and reliability needed by OT systems with the integration and flexible messaging capabilities of IT systems.

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

47. Debt Collection – Overview
The Debt Collection process is an automated business process that manages and
schedules a predefined set of collection actions for overdue customers.
The purpose is to improve revenue assurance and minimize revenue leakage.
Flexibility is achieved by using a business process engine. All the triggers and
collection actions are configurable.
It is possible to define several Debt Collection paths to comply with collection
needs of different customer categories, e.g, Residential, Corporate,
Government, etc.
Debt collection is applicable to both ‘Open’ and ‘Close’ invoice rules.
Only one single DC process may be active per account at a time even if several
overdue invoices exist.

49. Debt Collection flow
Collection process triggering:
A daily process searches for all overdue invoices that passed the
grace period.
If the sum of a customer’s overdue invoices crosses a predefined
threshold, the DC process is initiated.
A Collection Path is started performing a predefined sequence of
collection actions.
Collection steps may be automatic or may require manual
approval/intervention through the DC GUI.

50. Payment Arrangement (PA)
Payment Arrangement is an installment agreement between a customer and
the service provider.
The current debt is being split into a series of smaller monthly amounts, making
it easier for the customer to pay the debt
Only a single PA is allowed per account
PA can be started from account home page or from Debt Collection step
On agreement breach Debt Collection will resume from the same step
Interest rates and handling fee due to overdue amount are suspended while PA
is effective

52. Agents
Third-party entities that convince people to become customers and benefit from the
various services offered by a provider (or by various providers)
Agents receive a commission based on the revenue generated by the accounts they “bring
in”
One or more agents per account
Default Agent’s commission can be updated on account level to reflect the exact amount
received for the account
An agent can receive two types of commissions:
Based on a percentage of the calls placed by the subscriber;
Based on a fixed rate per call, per invoice, or per minute (minimum invoiced amount to be
commissioned can be defined)
The commission received by an agent can be calculated either according to one of the
rating types, or to any defined combination
Intermediate calculation – daily calculation for each agent for increased performance –
summary reports are created faster

82. American Connect Services - OneBill as a Global Solution for Providers:
OneBill as a SaaS mobile billing application is maintained and updated more frequently
than traditional software, in many cases on a weekly or monthly basis. This is enabled
by several factors:
The application is hosted centrally with global fail-safe features. New releases can be
put in place without requiring customers to physically install new software.
The OneBill application only has a single configuration, making development testing
faster.
The application vendor has access to all customer data, expediting design and
regression testing.
