ISS & CIC offer joint presentations to international students considering taking internships ! Based internship course enrollment, we collaborate with CIC to ensure timely CPT authorization for all international students (~100–140 students/semester + summer) ! Representatives from the Career & Internship Center (CIC) often participate in ISS career dialogues with international alumni
- 14. 15 Tips and Advice ! Imperative that ISS & Career Services be on the same page when it comes to defining CPT, OPT, and the difference between them! ! Clearly define & articulate processes for securing internships and CPT authorization, including application deadlines, etc. ! Foster collegial working relationships to keep communication channels open among CIC, ISS, and academic departments to ensure everyone remains current on latest developments in the dynamic fields of labor and immigration ! Work closely with General Counsel’s office to ensure institutional compliance across the board

Total enrollment for Zarb School of Business: Graduate MBA/MS programs: 975 (Fall 2016) ! International enrollment at Zarb Graduate programs: 460 (47.2%) ! Graduate Business STEM majors ( Business Analytics, Quantitative Finance, and Info Systems): 95 total; 71 (75%) are international students.

Meet with Career Services for resume critique, mock interviews, career exploration with goals to obtain on campus jobs and US internships and jobs ! Engage with alumni and employers who are open to hiring international students ! Language Development: (for students) ! Encourage and provide many opportunities for international students to practice English, i.e. international student support groups (counseling), International Tea(ISA), ELP Program, Writing Center ! Cultural and Career Development: (CS/ISSS collaboration) ! ISSS/Career Services stay informed about CPT/OPT updates and process. Be on the same page communicating with academia and students. ! ISSS/Career Services meet to plan together for the academic year !
