Matchmaker for the
Entertainment Industry
By Mary Meldrum
S
ervicing the fashion and acting communities, One Source
Talent is the entertainment industry’s network provider.
OST has an interactive database of actors, models and
entertainment clients in all markets looking for talent to fill their
creative needs.
“We are not a modeling agency,” emphasizes Anthony
Toma, owner of One Source Talent in Troy. “We help casting
directors and agencies find talent, and we also help talent find
opportunities in the industry.”
For individuals looking to break into film, television or modeling,
OST provides their talent with exposure and access to agencies
across the country. In addition, talents affiliated with OST have
been utilized in photo shoots, videos and other media sources
associated with international retailers and public figures. Some
of the more renowned list of brands and celebrities OST
members have had the opportunity to work with include Wal-
Mart, Eminem, Wells Fargo, Tommy Hilfiger, Nike Brand Jordan,
Gatorade, Lego, Snoop Dog, Master Card, Glamour magazine,
JC Penny’s, the U.S. Army and Fruit of the Loom. Although this
sample represents some of the more recognizable brands and
personalities, there are hundreds of other organizations seeking
talent on a daily basis for television, music videos, films, print ads
and runway fashion shows.
OST has created a venue that is beneficial to all in the
entertainment industry. Whether there is an aspiring actor or
model looking to get their first opportunity, or an international
brand seeking new talent for their latest ad print, OST provides
the common ground for their needs and wants to be fulfilled. As
Mr. Toma explains, “We service both sides of the industry.” With
thousands of contacts and clients on both sides, OST provides the
necessary high-tech tools to orchestrate a good match for talent
and any organization seeking the perfect fit for their project.
If a casting director is looking for an eight-year-old boy with
brown eyes who has superior yo-yo skills, OST’s searchable
database of talent can produce that match. OST has
generated an enormous list of satisfied repeat clients and
numerous success stories for talent who go on to have great
careers in television, film and fashion.
Created in 2003, One Source Talent is independently owned
by Anthony Toma. Corporate headquarters is located in Troy,
Michigan, but OST is not a small organization. They service the
entertainment industry with 13 strategically placed offices in
cities like New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and San Francisco.
Casting opportunities for talent through OST includes major
films such as the James Franco film “Black Dog, Red Dog”,
Kevin Hart and Ice Cube film “Ride Along”, the Robert
DeNiro and Michael Douglas film “Last Vegas”, as well as The
Amazing Spider-Man 2. This is just a small fraction of
the hundreds of movie opportunities that intersect
talent with casting directors at OST.
When you think of modeling, most of us picture a
waif-thin woman with impossibly long legs and a
sour face on the catwalk in high fashion clothing.
“The truth is, the coat rack-thin model makes up
only 6% of talent in the industry,” conveys Toma.
“The other 94% is made up of everyday folks, like
you and me.”
There is a substantial and constant demand for
models and talent of all types, shapes, sizes and
ages. OST is where the everyday person can go
to develop a talent portfolio and gain exposure to
businesses and directors looking to hire them.
Individuals who have an interest in acting or
modeling can take the first step and sign up with
OST online. They can be old, young, tall, short,
heavy, thin or bald. Opportunities are endless,
and the demand for a wide spectrum of faces,
ethnicities, sizes, voices and hair color is very strong.
The New Faces division within OST then schedules
new people to come in and be evaluated.
“This is a really great way for us to find out more
about them and their interests, as well as give them
more information about what we do here,” shares
Donna Kassab, Vice President of Sales for One
Source Talent. “We provide a way for quality talent
in Michigan to gain exposure in big markets like
New York without having to bear the expense of
traveling there.”
When talent signs with OST, they create a digital composite
card for all submissions, including real-time access
submissions to castings and auditions throughout the
nation. Approximately 200 auditions and opportunities are
posted daily for OST talent.
Named INC. Magazine 5,000 Fastest Growing
Independently owned Businesses for six years in a row,
OST is the go-to resource for connecting talent with
opportunity. Because of their depth in the entertainment
industry, they are always looking for more talent and
welcome more opportunities to service new clients, as
well. With a professional staff and advanced technology,
One Source Talent has altered how the entertainment
world finds top talent. To get your child seen by a Talent
Specialist, visit TryOST.com or call (248) 686-2606.
