1. Omar F. Cordero
O.F.C.
Omar F. Cordero was born and raised in Miami Fl. He currently holds a degree in Finance
and Economics from Florida International University. As a member of the financial
management association he started his career involved in community relations working with
the Mayor of Miami and the city's finance dept.
He later transitioned into banking working for Wachovia Bank NA. Where today he manages
200 million in assets for a dual firm Bank of America and Merrill Lynch in the Global Wealth
Management division. His current role also consists in the integration of cash management
solutions to all Wealth Advisors located in the Miami/Americas Complex for Merrill Lynch. In
2008 Omar ranked in the top 10 Bankers in his current role where he received the
performance star award from Bank of America for demonstrating outstanding leadership
and performance.
As the President of the Brickell Toastmasters club and Governor of Area 50 for
Toastmasters International, he is a major advocate in public speaking and focuses on
connecting with civic leaders to improve such a vital skill in the business community. His
overall knowledge and dedication to lifelong learning has demonstrated his ability to coach
and motivate others to do more for our community. Omar has also been involved in other
civic organizations thought South Florida, such as serving on the Board of Directors for the
Florida International University School of Business Alumni Chapter, Kiwanis of Little Havana
member and the Advisory Committee of the Research and Urban Development Group at the
Downtown Development Authority.
Omar enjoys an active fitness lifestyle as well. He currently is involved in many physical
fitness activities. As a mentor to others, he is committed to spread the importance of health
and physical well being. His say is don’t live to work but work to live as when you feel good
about yourself you have achieved inner peace and good will always follow.
