Elbow River Dam – Calgary, Alberta 2015 – 2016
n Designed an earth-fill dam to control the flow of the Elbow River to prevent tragedies such
as the flood of June 2013 from reoccurring.
n Took charge as project manager and displayed leadership.
n Performed feasibility analysis and cost estimation of project as well as several other
alternatives including a tunnel diversion system and dredging of existing reservoir.
n Performed geotechnical studies of existing soil in site area.
n Designed cofferdam and tunnel for temporary diversion as well as a contingency plan.
n Designed manhole system to control water flow through the dam.
n Completed progress reports and detailed final report of design plans.
