This document provides instructions for making "Gluep" by mixing borax detergent, glue, and water. Students are asked to follow the instructions to create the Gluep, then identify and list the characteristics of solids and liquids. They will then determine whether the resulting Gluep is best described as a solid or liquid based on its observable properties.

1. Objective: To learn the characteristics
of solids and liquids.

2.  1 Box of Mule Team Borax laundry detergent
 Elmer’s white glue
 Water
 1 Mixing spoon
 2 Bowls
 Measuring Spoons
 Plastic Sandwich Bags

3.  Measure 1 Teaspoon of borax into a mixing
bowl.
 Measure 6 teaspoons of water into the same
mixing bowl.
 Stir mixture until dissolved.

4.  Measure 1 Tablespoon of glue into the second
mixing bowl.
 Measure 1 Tablespoon of the
water/detergent mixture into the same
bowl.

5.  Pour the Borax mixture into the glue mixture
and stir until it forms a stiffened lump.

6.  Take the mixture out of the bowl and knead
it for three minutes.
 Enjoy your Gluep!

7.  Identify the characteristics of solids and
liquids.
 Write down the characteristics.
 List the Characteristics in MS word to be
projected on the screen.
