Fox Petroleum proposes building the Oman–India Multi-Purpose Pipeline project, a 1,600-kilometer underwater pipeline that would transport natural gas from Oman to India over 20 years. The $5-6 billion project could be completed within 5 years and would connect a compression station in Oman to receiving terminals in Gujarat, India. Building an underwater pipeline would be more secure than overland routes and allow India to avoid the high costs of importing liquefied natural gas. The pipeline could also potentially be expanded to connect to other Middle Eastern natural gas sources.
