This Week’s Academics
Spelling– This week we focused on the frequent spelling patterns for the ‘s’ sound.
We also started learning about homophones, prefixes, and suffixes.
Reading– We finished reading Escape. We also enjoyed reading Charlotte’s Web in
play form. I think we have a few future actors/actresses!
Writing- Students finished writing their biographies about a friend. We also spent
time this week doing writing responses based on our Open Court stories, Escape and
Sarah, Plain and Tall.
Math– We finished Unit 2 this week with our test on Thursday. We spent today
reviewing our tests and practicing using our calculators. Next week, we will start a
unit on estimation and rounding.
