This document summarizes a kickoff meeting for a Housing & Education Community Action Committee (H&E CAC). It included introductions, an overview of economic mobility and the relationship between housing and education, and a detailed presentation on Racine's new Rent Safe Initiative ordinances. Meeting participants then broke into small groups to discuss and ask questions about implementing the new ordinances before discussing next steps to form the H&E CAC, including defining its mission, selecting members, and establishing roles and operations. Creating a Shared Vision for a Community, presented by Marsha Murrington, And...craigslist_fndn
Â
To create a vision for the future and long-term change in a community, itâs essential to have a strong, well-conceived community engagement plan and process that allows the voices within the community to be heard. Having outsiders and experts apply their values and preconceived notions of what a community needs is a recipe for failure. This session is led by three skilled change agents, with experiences working across boundaries in a variety of communities. They share their insights, stories, and approaches for bringing people of diverse backgrounds, cultures, and generations together to envision what they want their neighborhoods and communities to become, determine priorities, address problems and issues, and take greater responsibility for where they live, work, and play.

(will provide only certain duties in the transaction per state law).
#2: Agents must openly acknowledge to clients any personal interest they might have in any
transaction prior to showing a property; they must acknowledge any personal relationships
involved. Ex: Agent says, âI want to disclose to you before we look at it, that this property

Health Education and Communication Strategies
Guidelines for Writing Advocacy Letters
1. State clearly, what you would like your reader to do.
2. Explain briefly why you think that he/she should do this. Help your reader
understand the need for action on his/her part, but avoid giving so much detail that
you bore or annoy him/her.
3. If the action you are requesting would require the reader to contact you, provide your
telephone number, fax number, and/or e-mail address.
The following additional guidelines will be helpful when drafting your letter:
⢠Locate Your Policy Makerâs Name and Addresses
Most local telephone books have a section dedicated to the office addresses and
telephone numbers of local elected officials. They may be listed by district
numbers. Internet websites can display this information based upon your zip
code.
⢠Use Formal Business Letter Style
The date should be at the top of the page. The policymaker name and address
should be just below, on the left margin, above the salutation. Close with a
handwritten signature and your typed address, e-mail, and phone number.
⢠Introduce Yourself
Begin your letter with a brief introduction including your name, city of residence,
and indicating your credentials. It is helpful to state that you reside in the area to
which the policy maker is assigned.
⢠Provide an Overview of your Issue or Topic.
Using data and statistics can really help make your case. Make sure these are
reliable and accurate.
⢠State the âAskâ
Within the first paragraph, be clear on what you are asking the policy maker to
do. Are you asking to develop a policy, earmark funding, or create a program?
⢠Make it Personal
Policy makers are most influenced when they can see how something affects
constituents directly. Tell a story about why this important or why you have a
passion for this topic.
⢠Wrap-Up
Restate your âask.â Offer to provide additional information. Always thank them
and provide your contact information.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Â
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
⢠The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
⢠The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate âany matterâ at âany timeâ under House Rule X.
⢠The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

HOUSING & EDUCATIONâS IMPACT ON
STUDENTS & FAMILIES
Home and school are two of the most important communities for
children.
⢠They provide foundations for future success that support many aspects of
mobility to advance economically. Both housing & education influence a childâs
environment and can either support or weaken their sense of safety, stability, and
bonding.
⢠An individualâs housing stability during childhood directly affects their education
experiences and future economic wellbeing as an adult.
⢠In contrast, traumatic eventsâsuch as growing up in a household experiencing
housing instabilityâplaces a heavy burden on children, their families, and
communities. We do not experience trauma in isolation and healing is achieved in
relationships and community.
