2. Artists I liked
• Edward Weston
I liked this image
because of the
detail and the
organic naturalistic
feel. I also liked the
image in black and
white because it
bought out a high
level of detail.
3. • Albert Renger-Patzsch
I chose this artist as my second
option because I again liked the
organic objects and the colour
scheme. This is what I want to
do to create my images.
4. Wols
My third artist
‘Wols’ only did
a few of these
styled images
but the fire and
lack of colour
are the type of
things I want to
incorporate
into my final
image.
5. Experimental Studies
• My first try at Edward Weston’s style in colour. This image had got
detail in parts but not as sharp as Edwrard’s flower image. This
image is unedited.
6. • This photograph is better and more like Edward’s with more detail everywhere as
well as more flowers and a darker atmosphere. This is an image that has been
edited with exposure and contrast to help create the same feel as the Edward
Weston image.
7. • This is my favourite image from my first set because of the blurriness and
the way it is still focused. It makes the image more abstract and the
colours are vibrant however wouldn’t look as good in black and white.
8. • This image had a shorter exposure and the light was angled differently, the
vibrancy was turned down and the colours are more ‘glumn’ which is more
Edwards style but the detail is not very good.
11. 1st image
• This image is not red roses like Edward Weston or
my first set of images. I used white roses but tried
to create different effects but still keep the lack of
colour and the high level of detail.
• This image is one of my best images because the
level of detail and the colours. This image was a
success to the fact it is similar to Edwards and
created a darkened feeling however the flowers
are light and the image isn’t physically dark.
12. • 2nd image: this image isn’t like Edwards style yet it is still of a flower but had a
warm happy feel to it. It is also with high level of detail and up very close making it
abstract. The lack of colour makes the image soft and resembles something such
as a wedding. This image I believe was also a success.
13. • 3rd image: This Photograph has a deeper depth of field and the
flowers are brighter and more vibrant. The level of detail isn’t as
good but it has more to look at with a wider scene.
14. • 4th image: This image has a completely different angle and has a
high level of detail! The colours are also very warm and minimal.
This has been edited to enhance the detail further. Upped the
exposure and the contrast.
