Good Stuff Happens in 1:1 Meetings: Why you need them and how to do them well
Oak Hammock Letter of Reference

To Whom It May Concern:
Katie James worked at Oak Hammock at the University of Florida from January 2004 to July 2005.
During this time she was the Director of First Impressions in The Commons. This is an extremely busy
area that handles all incoming calls for the entire community of 400 members plus routing calls to a
large staff.
Basically, the phone never stops. In addition, since the reception desk is located in a public area, the
lobby of The Commons, Katie had to manage a constant stream of both visitors and guests. There is
never a quiet moment so this position requires someone who can handle that kind of pressure and stay,
calm, cool and collected, and most of all friendly! Since some of our members are either very picky or
can be forgetful, this job requires above all, patience. Katie possesses all of these qualities. Our
members were very fond of Katie and to this day still ask about her.
I would highly recommend Katie for any job involving interaction with people and especially an elderly
clientele. She can handle a hectic busy atmosphere and keep herself organized. She is a good team
player and has a great sense of humor.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact me personally.
