This document provides instructions for students to interview a healthcare leader who could serve as their preceptor for their doctoral project. Students are asked to evaluate the leader's qualifications and leadership style, assess their organizational role in relation to quality and safety standards, and identify a potential gap or opportunity for a doctoral project topic. Students should ask questions to understand the leader's credentials, position, and approach to communication, collaboration, data management and championing quality improvement. The summary should be 3-5 pages evaluating the leader's suitability as a preceptor and proposing a doctoral project idea based on an identified need within the organization.
